Default Finally Friday Chat

Yippee! I get to start the daily - although other Early Chickies are probably lurking out there.

Big morning ahead starting with lugging out the trash - again! I forgot that Monday was a stat holiday so the stuff didn't get picked up yesterday and the dump was closed. I had to put all the crud into my car as we have nocturnal visitors around here - coyotes at the moment but skunks and raccoons will be taking over soon! The joys of rural living!

I have foot care at the clinic at 9 and need to be back here by ten so it'll be a rush. Gail is popping in for a visit then, mainly to see Hershey, I think. She's a fan. I also have Donna coming to finally get at the vacuuming in the sewingroom and do have a dab more of sorting to do before then. Gail used to clean for me before I got Donna and was the best person I've ever had. She knew exactly what had to be done when whereas Donna needs lots of direction. Guess I shouldn't complain as I 'm lucky to have anyone.

The rest of the day will be MINE!

How does your Friday look from this end of the day?

My Friday is getting off to a slow start, but I'm dressed in my workout clothes and heading to Curves in a few minutes. I have an unexpected morning off since Maggie's class is having a special party this afternoon, so she'll be in school all day, and I'll pick up both girls at 3. I have some grocery shopping to do, but other than that, I'm free!

Morning Ruth! Sounds like you have a busy day ahead! Coyotes, Skunks and Racoons....oh my!

Me: Nothing special. Just work and maybe some gardening when the sun comes out. And figuring out what to do with some ground turkey. Exiting day, huh? One of my best friends came over for a visit yesterday. She borrowed my SB book about a month ago and has lost 10lbs. I am so proud of her and she feels great...no more heartburn etc. I think the trick is to get everyone who you know and love to get on SB, then you never have to worry about what they fix when you go to their house to eat. We had a snack of my "frozen fruit sorbet" and enjoyed sitting on the patio in perfect weather.

I think tomorrow afternoon, we are going to an "International Beer Fest" which should be fun. My husband loves to try all different kinds of beer. It will be held at a Rural Life Museum that has gorgeous gardens, so I plan on trying out some new stuff with my camera. Want to hit my one of my fav. restaurants first.

Morning Cottage, we were posting at the same time...have fun with your free time. If you find anything new and wonderful at the grocery store, let us know!

Good morning chicks

Ruth - There's snow all over my yard again Last spring we had raccoons stealing our bird feeders! We put jelly and oranges out for the orioles and the raccoons stole the whole feeder. They also went after the hummingbird feeders. I actually caught them at it one night, not that they cared.

Cottage - enjoy you morning of leisure there's nothing like found time.

Cat - I think I'd get in trouble at a beer fest. I like really good microbrewery beers and love trying all the different varieties. My favorite ever was a pumpkin beer - much better than it sounds

jandaman - Stay strong! I'm terrible at the negotiation part too sadly. Hope that UTI hits the road quickly.

Me - did I mention the snow?!?!? I have to go in because I took a rental car for yesterdays meeting. I don't usually but thought I might as well since I had to be in town the day before and after and my car appreciates the break. Darn!

Nothing exciting on tap this weekend. I have to work just a little tomorrow so will plan errands around that. I just hope this snow gets out of here fast.

Have a good day Chicks!

Grocery store items? I don't know if you can find it in NA but my sister brought back several wee bottles of flavoured olive oil from her last trip to Rome.

Would you believe Donna just phoned and cancelled - AGAIN! She has to take her mother to the doctor.

Good morning ladies:

Ruth: busy day eh? wee bottles... how cute.... and skunks?? we have enough problems with chipmunks and squirrels

Cottage: enjoy your 'free' day

Cat: BEER FEST??? More and more I think i'm blessed that I don't like beer...

jandaman UGH UTIs are the worst... i hate them. Thankfully since I stopped using a diaphram for birth control I've had almost no attacks... and thanks for the KUDOS... it was a bad day yesterday... but like annie said 'the sun will come out tomorrow' AND IT DID!

Cyndi I'm sorry you still have snow... truly... we didn't get much this year or last year... I would have liked some for the winter... but i'm glad it's spring.

ME: oh i did PERSONALS CREDIT MOI. did my Beck work yesterday it's very very interesting... yesterday was about how hunger is not the worst pain we will ever feel, it's not an emergency and it won't kill us. very true... not happy about it but true.

last night hubby and I watched tv together (a rareity) and then went upstairs at the same time (even rarer) and mumble mumble mumble.. and something... (so rare it's never happened) suffice it to say we are both rather pleased with ourselves this morning LOL

busy at work today.. have a busy weekend planned.. buying 2 sofas tomorrow to replace our 25 yr old sectional, then sunday is race day for brian and awards... and i'll be cleaning the fridge and buying produce.... oh joy.

tomorrow night we have a bull and oyster roast with his boss... that means food and drinks and gambling... i've been to these before I drink water no one cares and i eat what i can and no one cares.... life is good.. with the boot on dancing may be interesting....

later chicks...

Good morning! It's friday, what a LONG week! Sorry to not pop in but things have been crazy. I painted the bathroom last week only to find out the floor I had chosen there was not enough in stock so I had to pick a different floor and not sure the pain will go with the floor! I have my sister coming over in the morning and going to ask her what she thinks. Then we are going to go shopping for clothes, I need a spring wardrobe!!

Snow? Did someone say snow? I came out to have to brush off 8 inches!!!!!!! It is ssoooo pretty with the trees covered with it! not just a dusting, several inches on them! a true winter wonderland!

Good morning chicks, and how happy are we it's Friday? Although my weekend doesn't sound as fun as some - bull and oyster roasts and beer fests!
How are our cranky girls today? SANative? Gonna? Nessa, sounds like you got the "attention" you needed and are much improved today!
And how are the sickies and those recovering? Tawnya? Connor? Tom?
I got another sticker for a good Ph1 day yesterday. I'd forgotten how helpful a really clean Ph1 could be. Don't know that I've lost anything, but I am feeling much more able to resist those temptations. Nessa, I got the Beck book and started reading it last night, but I haven't started any of the tasks yet. Maybe today...
Okay, better go walk the kiddies, although I'm tempted to let them go on their own this morning. It's not that far, there's a crossing guard, and they assure me they can handle it. Really, I mainly go with just to ensure I get in a walk.

Ruth, sorry you got cancelled on again. That must get really frustrating!
cottage, enjoy your free morning!
Cat, I know you'll be happy as a clam if you can get out in that garden today!
jan, sorry about the UTI, I will add you to the sickie list. Hope all goes well with the negotitations. I got an email that our raises came out yesterday, so I can call my boss and find out what I got, or wait two weeks for my paycheck. Haven't decided yet - I'm afraid it'll make me angry and spoil my weekend.
Cyndi, snow? ick! poor thing. I'm glad our chances are gone now.
Loriann, happy shopping for spring clothes in the snow lol!

Okay, no more chit-chat about Mexican food today, ladies. It's because of you I have to make taco soup for lunch. Have a good one!

Cat: BEER FEST??? More and more I think i'm blessed that I don't like beer...[QUOTE]

I don't really care for it all that much either. The ONLY time I really want a beer is when I go to a crawfish boil and it's REALLY hot outside and the beer is REALLY cold and even then it's no big temptation. Now, gin, that's another matter. (gin and gingerale and a twist of lime...ahhhh...or a Cuba Libre..oooo)

Morning girlies! TGIF!!!!! (I can say that now because I don't have to work weekends anymore.) Abdul's home this weekend, staying with my parents as always, so I think we're going to do karaoke tonight. I haven't been out in a long time so it'll be fun. Then we're spending the rest of the weekend setting up Tommy's son's bedroom in my apartment. Gotta get the bed set up and stuff, and we got Cars stuff to decorate. I'm so excited!

Gonna be a long day at work, as it is Friday, but I'm off at 5 at least. Hope all of you girls have a great day!

Ruth Its snowing here. I had never heard of Easter Monday til I came up here.
I would definetly be in trouble at a beer fest.I have to behave now.

UTI's are not fun. I had one and the pain bout killed me. Definetly a TGIF here. I have to work tonight. After three day's I"m pooped.

I did get my first check though. Okay chicks the insurance in the states costs more than taxes here. Go figure. I'm hovering between 236 and 237 down I think 3 lbs from last week. 2 at least anyway. My hubby is plateaued. I'll be at my goal by the time I get to the specialist.

I also go into a size 18 jeans today. My shirt size will probably stay at 2x because of the legnth. I can fit into smaller shirts but my belly button shows.

Hey everyone!

I did my workout and got groceries, and have a turkey London Broil in the oven now for Jake's supper tonight. I like to fix supper in the mornings when I have the time, it makes it so much easier when I get home at night. I hate to come home all tired and have to think about cooking a meal.
I didn't find anything new at the store, but they had some great sales on produce. I really stocked up, I just hope I can use it all before it goes bad!

Cat, I hope you can get outside in your garden today, and enjoy your day tomorrow at the Beer Fest! I just can't develop a liking for beer, but a Cuba Libre, YUM!

Janda, get well soon! A weekend spent on the couch doesn't sound all that bad to me, but I'm sorry you're in pain. Take good care of yourself.

Cyndi, that's a shame about the snow! And just when you were celebrating the sight of your green lawn again! Be careful driving in it.

Nessa, you are loved and appreciated around here. I'm glad you're in a better frame of mind today!

Loriann, I was wondering where you had gotten to! You'll have to post some pictures of your redecorating, it sounds great! Wow, 8 inches of new snow for you!!!

Schmoodle, you're sounding a lot more positive and energized these days! Phase 1 must be working well for you this time around! Did you get to watch Survivor last night? It was pre-empted here because of college basketball. I was just wondering if it was cancelled for everyone, or did we miss an episode?

GONNA, have fun at your family dinner tonight! I love the grilled shrimp & spinach salad at Applebee's, and their grilled tilapia is very good, too. Sounds like you have a busy weekend ahead!

weezle, you sound so happy and content! Have fun setting up the bedroom!

Spirit, congratulations on a smaller size jeans!

Ruth: Thanks for starting us up! Your Friday looks great once the morning is over - hope Donna brings her 'A' game for you today! (After scrolling down, I see that she didn't! Maybe Gail needs a few extra bucks? ) Enjoy Gail's visit!

Cottage: Enjoy your freedom...and your workout! I hope your Friday is great!

Cat: Enjoy your gardening! Sounds like DH and I could go to the beerfest with you two! He loves trying beer and I'd be next to you taking pictures of the gardens (learning a lot as well!) Have a wonderful time! It's great about your friend - I'm currently working on a friend of mine, she's been crash dieting to try to get to a healthy weight for pregnancy and she's 41. It's starting to scare me!

jandaman: Hope your UTI clears up quickly, sorry that you're going through that. Enjoy your couch-time!

Cyndi: Sorry that you have to drive in today - be careful! Hope you're able to salvage your day after that!

Nessa: Well, since you and DH are on this morning, I'll just and be on my way! (Although I will second what jandaman said!)

Loriann: I can't imagine that much snow this morning - it's already in the 70s and climbing. It would be nice, though. Sorry about the paint/floor fiasco! I hope you and your sis find out a solution!

Schmoodle: Okay, okay. No more Mexican food discussions, I promise! Enjoy your day today and that taco soup!

Gonna: You have a busy weekend ahead of you! Hope you fit it all in! What are you going to do to your hair? I'm sure your plateau will break soon! Just stick with it!

Lisa: How exciting! Are they moving in permanently or are you just going to have a special room for him when they're there? Either way - it's going to be fun for all three of you! Enjoy karaoke with Abdul - wish I could join ya'll. My night won't be nearly so interesting!

Spirit: Congrats on your loss so far and the new pants size! Sorry you have to work tonight, but I hope that it goes by fast!

Me: Nothing much over here. Spent hours cleaning out my room last night. It's still not where I want it to be, but decent enough. I'll have to wait for our summer yard sale to really clean it.

Tonight I'm planning on catching up on some crafts I've been meaning to take care of. I need to sort out some yarn for crochet projects and make a list of incomplete projects. Need to get things going so I'm prepared for next Christmas!

Tomorrow I'm hoping that we'll get up, go to breakfast and then head to the courthouse where the tulips are blooming beautifully so that I can go get some pics. Then we'll do our usual errand-route; True Value, grocery store, post office and then home. I haven't shared the breakfast and picture-taking plans with DH yet, but I think he'll be okay with it.

Well, off to other internet pursuits! Hope everyone to follow has a good day.

~Kim
