Default Sorta bummed...

Last saturday I started my diet. Tomorrrow I'm doing my first weigh-in. I haven't been too strict to my diet, though I haven't binged or anything. Yesterday I had a soda and a little easter chocolate. I most definitely don't expect to have lost anything though I worked out daily. It's going to be depressing tomorrow when I step on the scale and it goes nowhere.

I didn't have any healthy foods in the house yesterday to snack on which was my main problem. My bf brought home fruits and veggies last night though. (We have no stores in our town).

Well now. You haven't even stepped on the scale, yet!

A soda and a little chocolate is not the end of the world. So, now that you have healthier options in the house, be sure to snack on those. Put yesterday where it belongs: behind you.

Lesson learned Keep extras of the good fruits & veggies in the house so you don't run out.

If your weigh-in is disappointing this week, then next week, stay strict! You'll see the difference!

You don't have that much to lose, so scale results may be a lot slower than you'd like even with the best of behavior. So you may want to try and focus on the exercise and healthy eating themselves as victories, as well as things like "I'm running faster / lifting more / eating better" as you go along.

I think the important thing to remember is you're trying to make changes you can keep at forever -- making a commitment to a healthier you!! Don't worry about what happened this week, but do try to learn from what happened so you can make better choices later!

And good luck tomorrow!

Default You need to plan ahead

Especially if you don't live near a store. If you don't prepare your enironment for success you will no be successful. Fill your home with healthy snacks, whole wheat grains, fruits and veggies. Do some cutting of veggies the night before or in the am for the day.
Good luck

make sure you step on the scale before you get disappointed! Starting off with negativity isn't a good way to start a life change. Be excited, be happy... celebrate the fact that you didn't binge, and learn from mistakes for next time. Diets really are trial and error... you'll make mistakes along the way. However, it is how you deal with those mistakes that determines how you will do in the long run. If you let them get you too discouraged, you will lose faith and give up. Just say "Self, don't do that again" and move on. Also, maybe you could try using a site like the daily plate to help you track calories. You'll be a lot less likely to drink soda and stuff if you have to enter it into your calorie counter and see for yourself how it affects your dailey intake.

Thanks everyone. I've had a horrible time keeping with anything since I've had my daughter. I don't know how many times I've "started" my diet since she was born over a year ago. It doesn't help that my guy is bringing me home Cadbury cream eggs, sweetened tea, and putting bacon on the salad even though I ask him not to.

I'll just be happy that I've worked out this week and not dwell on the small stuff.

You might want to consider taking your measurements. Those can change even if the scale doesn't move, and that can help keep you motivated.

HEY! It's not even Easter yet!!!! WHy do you have Easter chocolate????

no no no... keep it away! It's one thing to avoid the urges when the holiday actually comes around and people give it to you as a gift... it's another thing to go out and GET it!

Seriously, the only way I've gotten 25 lbs down already is that I don't allow it in my house b/c I CANNOT say no (at least not yet... maybe one day). I don't buy it, I don't bring it in, so I don't have to SAY no to it. And I stock my house with good healthy stuff so if I DO get horribly weak, there's only so much damage I can do!

Because my boyfriend and I got into a fight so he bought me Easter chocolate to make it better, LOL. Thanks a lot, right?

I have a daughter who's basket I'm filling with healthy Easter treats (dried fruit). She's only 1 anyways, so it's not like I want her eating a chocolate bunny.
