Wow. I havent been on here for a long time. I have been on a few times since thanksgiving. But I decided to get on tonight because I have recommitted myself to myself. I logged on expecting to see SOME new people but it seems that everyone that I knew before is gone. So Hello to everyone new and if there are any old faces that remember me. IM BACK....
Oh I forgot how much I loved the support from 3FC.
I hurt my back again. I had back surgery in 2006 and it worked amazingly. Well I hurt my back again and the dr thinks that I herniated the disk again. So he is sending me for an MRI on monday and then he said IF the disk is herniated again then we are going to do the surgery again.
I didnt do what I was supposed to do after the first surgery so I have no one to blame but myself. He wanted me to see him every 6 weeks for the first year after the surgery and I didnt do that because the pain was gone. So I only saw him once after the surgery.
He also told me that my back was weaker than a normal person and my lower back couldnt handle all the extra weight that I was carrying so I needed to lose weight and I didnt do that either. So I am going to work on losing weight and make sure that I do EVERY SINGLE THING that he tells me to do.
We are here...not to worry!
I'm so sorry that your back is hurting you again...but I'm SO PROUD of you for coming back, and re-committing yourself to yourself!
An OLDbie checking in. Good to see you Dek. Really good. I'm so sorry to hear about your back problems. I hope you can resolve them.
I am thrilled to see you back here though and am even more thrilled to hear that you are ready to recommit. No more settling for second best when first best is WELL within your reach. You can do this Dek. I wish you the best of luck.
Dek6, welcome back, as well as all you new chickies
Well, I have been coming around here since September. I am not sure if I am old, new or just moldy. You take your pick
I am sorry to hear about your back. I never used to have back problems until a couple of years ago. I never did have it checked out (famous last words for me) but it has been very sensitive and I can't lift or stand for very long. My back has been further aggravated by sitting all day at the computer (so what else is new?).
I agree with you, losing weight is important to any one who wants to give their back a "break". Let's lose it together!!
We can do it!!
And, again, dek6 and all the rest of you new chickies. We're glad you came.
Hi there! I'm still here...and so very glad to "see" you here again! Sorry to hear about your back problems, but looking forward to continuing this weight loss journey with you.
I'm someone who used to be around a little, but haven't been here in ages. This is one of the first posts I read, and BOY, can I relate! I had my first back surgery 5 years ago, and the recovery was good, and things were going great. BUT, I didn't do my exercises and didn't lose weight. And 2 years ago I herniated the disc again even worse. So I had my second surgery. Since then I've lost 40-something pounds, and do my exercises (though not nearly as regularly as I should), but I still have a long way to go, and I stalled out 6 months ago and never really got going again. Preventing another back surgery is one of my biggest motivations! They can't replace your back!!
Good luck with your back situation! And with the weight loss!
