Default New at LA WL

Hello Everyone,
I join LA Weight Loss today. Anyone have supporting words for me please share. I had a good chat with the manager at the center, good thing about it they didn't try to sell me bars, it was up to me if I wanted it. Wish me luck , tomorrow is my LA Express Take Off.

Hey, welcome! Remember- it will be difficult to do the TakeOff- but once you get through those 2 days- things will be a lot easier. It helps you stay on track and later on in the program you learn to appreciate your servings. You can make this plan work for you.

Welcome Nal123! It's a great program and one that works well because it teaches you how to eat healthily rather than depriving you temporarily. I notice you're from Toronto. Welcome to a fellow Canuck, I'm from the GTA as well. Good luck with the program.

The program encourages healthy eating practices. It is a lifestyle change and not a diet. If you stick with this, you will lose weight and keep it off. You will be eating real food, which will make it much easier to stick with.

Good luck

Thank you Pastrey, Ternoway and buffystar for the kind words. I'm looking forward to do this. I'm a person who only eat once a day so this is going to be difficult for the beginning. I hope i can keep up.

Hi Nal and welcome,

LA works. I was also one who only ate once a day and it was tough in the beginning. To get all that food in. But it gets easier and you get used to it. It seems like alot of food but once you get the hang of it and use the recipes in the book you dont realize but you use alot in one serving. I have been on this for 14 weeks and I have done take off 3 times. The first time I had lost 6 pounds and the other times I have lost 3-4 pounds. I am doing TO again tomorrow and tuesday. Good luck to you and dont be shy to ask questions cause alot of people here are very knowledgable. Have a good day.

Cathy.

Default New to LAWL

Hello! I just joined the LAWL on 2-1-08. My counselor started me on the LA express with the Take off juice for 2 days. Which i chose the weekend. I meet with her on Monday. and she said she would tell me what comes next. I am curious what comes after this? On the LA Express It lists certain green veggies. It didn't list Spinach leaves. So, I guess if it's not specified on this list I can't have it, even though its a green veggie? It says i can have dressing, but lite or just oil and vinegar. Do you have any suggestions on which ones of the lite dressing you reccommend? Thanks so much.

Sorry, my COD never had the LA express so can't help you there. There was a very good thread on salad dressing recommendations began on 1-19-08. I new the the site and can't figure out how to find things I've seen before too well, but it was like 4 pages back for me when sorted by date. Good luck and I'm sure someone else that knows the Express will chime in. Cindy

Hi Nal,

I also just started. The express is killing me right now. I didn't realize how much red meat I used to eat.

I am also from Canada.!

All these darn Canadians, eh?

Welcome Nal (and the rest of the newbies I may have missed)!

The amount of food you will be required to eat, especially if you're not used to eating much, will come as a shock.. I know it did for me.. I found myself constantly skimping portions subconciously, thinking I was eating way to much.. But once you adjust, you'll really start to see the results..

Get through the first few days and DON'T stray.. It's especially important early on, for you never to stray from the plan, so your body gets the message that it won't be getting any crappy food anymore!!!

Nal123,

If you have only been eating once a day, you will probably have a hard time getting all the food in at first. I sure did. There were many days when I just couldn't get it all in. What is important is that the next day you do more, and more the next, and so on. Within a week or so you will adjust. Try not to get overwhelmed and don't give up. It is an easy plan to learn and adjust to. Good luck!

Nal, Eating throughout the day really does make your metabolism work faster and so you burn more calories and lose weight better. Plus your body will just love it once you get used to doing it. I didn't think eating all the time would make a big difference for me until I tried it.

The first couple days were a little challenging because I was in withdrawal from the junk in my former life.

Don't worry, the free to live lets you have a little red meat (but the serving sizes are smaller than for the chicken or fish). I have substituted ground turkey for almost everywhere that I used to use hamburger.
