Unhappy Time for me to 'fess up

I have been way off my eating plan since around Thanksgiving and I have gained (drum roll please...) FIFTEEN POUNDS!! There's simply no excuse, none at all.

I'm starting my weight loss class again on February 18th and have been asked to lead this session, which I'm going to do. I'm really excited about it, and DH is going to join me (mostly to be part of the Bible study and to be supportive - he's not overweight), so it'll be a good thing. In the meantime, I'm getting my behind in gear. I'm journaling my food again, and I'm not eating sugar for a while (one month is the current time frame.) I wish I could control myself around sugar, but cold turkey is the only way I seem to do ok. And, I know that my eating so much candy, cookies, etc. has been one big reason for this weight gain.

I should be off my crutches completely by this weekend and I'm going to start exercising again as soon as I can. I didn't realize how much I love it until I couldn't do any!

At any rate, I felt like I needed to 'fess up and let someone else know what's going on. I'm off to make a second ticker for my sig, one to cheer me down to my original ticker weight.

good for you for coming back and getting back on track! You can do this -- keep checking in to let us know how it goes. (I'm on the verge of falling of the wagon after 2 not so good food days.. so I feel kind of like a hypocrite saying this but hey.. I may need it someday too)

I've had to stop exercise because of an injury too -- I really miss having the emotional outlet. It distracts me from eating!

Good luck

Good job getting back on track
You are far from alone in not being able to do moderation. I had to completely quit sweet things, I get totally out of control around them

Don't sweat it! I have also been eating wildly for about 2 months! I got up to 193 from my low of 182, but came down quick to 187 after I was back on track for less than a week. I am sure a lot of yours is water weight also. It sure feels good to see the scale droppin again though! You can do it!

Glad you are here. I too have to deal with injuries that keep my from excerising. Hopefully, we'll get this figured out soon. In the meantime, I've used meditation to help get the same seratonin as I'd get from exercise.

Good luck with leading your class.

Hi Gale,

I'm sorry to hear that you've gained some weight. But, it is really good to hear that you're becoming accountable again. The Bible study sound like a great opportunity for you and for your Husband. I'm sure you will have some great successes to report soon.

Remember.... success is not only making it happen.... maybe more importantly, its being able to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start over again!! You can do it

I am totally with you on the sugar thing - I did have to completely cut it out for awhile. Sugar (and empty carby food like pretzels) just sets me off! I was so much happier when I quit eating sugar. I used fruit to satisfy my sweet tooth, fruit doesn't effect me the same way!

You're back here, which is a step in the right direction! I know how easy it is to have a 'stumble' and put on weight. Just refocus and it will come right back off.

Congratulations on being so honest. It's not easy to come back and do the big Ooops thread.

I love the idea of the second ticker showing your progress back to your original one. It's a great mini-goal for your new start.
