Default Terrific Tuesday Chatterings

We're having a heat wave today, it's supposed to climb into the 50s! But rain is coming with it, so we can't have everything.

I was pretty proud of myself yesterday, I sat through the birthday party with everyone around me gobbling pizza and cake while I just sipped on my water. I wasn't even tempted, I just told myself that it wasn't worth the guilt I'd feel afterwards. It meant I couldn't eat my lunch until 3 pm, though, since outside food isn't allowed at the MoonBounce. But I made it and I was OK.

I haven't even thought of what's happening today. I do know I have to go through some tax stuff to get it all ready, but that's about it.

I'll be back later, I'm off to Curves for now!

Yuk...tax stuff! Hate even thinking about it!! It's enough to make one run for chocolate!

Today is the last full day my company will be here. They leave tomorrow afternoon. Just put on a pot of red beans in the slow cooker so it can be ready for 2 when we eat. Have to stop on the way home from school and get them some snacks for their trip home. Hope they polish off the coconut cake today so I don't have to throw it away, but if they don't, in the garbage it goes...the stupid cake has been calling to me. I keep telling it to shut up. I've only had 2 desserts since they have been here, so not too bad. One was sheer porn, but I picked the smallest one in place. I've made fancy desserts every day since they have been here, so I'm happy with myself for not going nuts with them.

We had a great time at the Barkus Parade on Sunday. The dessert food porn is at the end of the album, so either skip it or just drool and pat yourself on the back for resiting such junk.

Morning chicks. There is school today for the wee ones. And my two dd's have one more day off before the next semesters starts for them. Today is mild and I thought we were getting rain, but one of my dads just told me freezing rain, and then more snow for tomorrow. So I am going to have to check the weather. I have my latin line dancing again tonight, so I hope the weather is not to bad. Although I can walk it just around the corner from my house. I also have a ton of laundry to do. Well gotta to dash another wee one coming to the door. I will pop back in later. Have a great day.

Cat, I'm really enjoying your pictures! Good for you for not caving in to that coconut cake, make your company take the rest with them.

LC, your Latin line dancing sounds like loads of fun, and what a great way to get some exercise, too! I hope your class isn't cancelled for tonight. Be careful on those icy roads!

I decided to make the Spinach Souffle Stuffed Chicken for supper, so I'm getting that ready now. I'll have mine with the rest of the lentil spinach medley and some steamed carrots.

zoerba, I noticed while looking over your menu from yesterday that you are eating the Fiber One Honey Clusters. They're a no-no because we're to avoid honey. And the chicken wings are also a no-no since they're very high in fat. Sorry.

Hello fellow chicks! It's good to have a group of friends like you!

LC, I'm in the middle of laundry myself! It never stops, does it?!

Cat, those dogs were too much! Looks like you all had a blast - good desserts to boot!

Linda, you can always try taking food into those places and claiming you have special dietary considerations. I have gotten away with taking food into lots of places you wouldn't normally be allowed to because of Connor's food allergies. Or just be awesome like you and have will power of stone!

I was a busy girl today! I was to base and back three times, so that got a good deal of exercise in. Now I'm winding down and looking for a CSI that's not going to give me weird dreams tonight! Tom woke me up at two in the morning (when he got home from work) to tell me that our medical clearances went through, so we're officially off to Germany! The rest of the paperwork should come through this week and then we can start making the flight arrangements and all that exciting stuff!

Wow...I'm actually up and on here early this morning!
CatBarkus looks like a lot of fun! I agree...you should make them take the coconut cake with them!
It's weigh in day for me...I'm stuck at home..so I am waiting on DH to come get me and take me to the wellness center. I refuse to keep a scale in my house! (they're just too darn judgemental!) So I had to get up early.
Well...DH just called...so I'm off to get weighed...(got my fingers crossed)

Ssssshhhhhhhh, hear that???? It's silence! I am alone in the office for the time being, what a relief! I am going to sit and sip my coffee and talk to my chicks for a few just like the old days!

Cottage WTG resisting the pizza and cake! I seem to have lost that willpower lately!

Cat Same to you on the desserts! If you bake it I will eat seems to be my motto lately so no baking in my house except oatmeal bars!

LC Hope the weather cooperates so you can get to your class tonight! We are getting rain now. I drove through some nasty hail on my way in. It is 50 here this morning and supposed to be 17 in the morning!

Kara I agree it is great to have this group of friends! So glad your plans are coming together for the big move. You must be getting so excited! Wanted to congradulate you on your recent woosh! Your doing great!

Me I have a ton a work to do today as the boss was in at 3:45 clearing his desk of work which meant it went to mine! Hopefully I will get caught up with there only being one other person in the office today! Boss is off to an auction for office furniture and took one of the guys with him to help and the other AE is out making calls today. It had been just me and the boss for 6 months and I kinda got used to no interruptions. Now I have to reprogram myself to tune out all the BS!

TOM (sorry tom) is due anytime and I feel like I have 5 pounds of water weight just dragging me down not to mention I want every food porn imaginable!

Alright time to check out the files on my desk and organize my day. Hope to check back with you all later! In the meantime............
listen.............aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh silence!

Tina, hope the wellness center scale was nice!

Gonna, I think walking on your treadmill while you watch Biggest Loser is an excellent plan!

Stephanie, last week as my period was gearing up, I upped my protein and had NO cravings! Try it! I just added a little more in at each meal. I actually read in a magazine at the gym the other day (you know how people leave them in the cardio room?) that if you're craving sweets it could be because you're not getting enough protein. I wonder if iron has anything to do with it, considering the pressing issue we face...

I just had my evening green tea. It's become my own little ritual. So relaxing. Something about holding a warm mug in your hands.

good morning chicks, nothing much going on here in houston. it's gonna be a hot one today. In the 70's. Yuck! Haven't been doing any dieting/weight loss for about a week now. I need to start again. It's so hard to. I seen this really beautiful red dress and I want it but they don't make it in my size. So, really my goal is to buy that dress and lose weight to fit in it. I'm gonna have to drop 5 sizes to fit in it. I know I can do it, I've done it before. I'm just the type that if I don't lose it overnight, forget it. I'm also trying to look for a plan that I can follow. I haven't been on any, just my own and it worked for 2 weeks but lost alot of determination. But anyways, everything is better between me and my husband. I'm still not happy about it but what can I do and I hope he's learned his lesson that he really did hurt me with what he did. Thank you everyone for your support.

good morning ladies....I'm brand new here, started SBD yesterday - phase 1. I just want to make sure I'm doing this right. I posted my menu on the daily menu board. I feel like I'm eating more than I should to be able to lose weight...I had been on a very strict low carb diet for the last 6-7 months --- measuring and weighing all my veggies and protein, so the reason I decided to switch to SBD is so I don't have be so worried about how much of everything I'm eating and just enjoy myself and not be so concerned, but in the last day I have found myself STILL measuring and weighing my food....I'm having a hard time with that and always wondering if I'm doing this right or if I'm missing something.....

Woah, so many posts, so little time! Just a happy day at home for me. DD has piano lessons, and the bookmobile comes this afternoon. So maybe I will be able to stay out of the car today. Oh, nope! Just remembered I'll need to run to the creamery at lunch. We're almost out of milk. Not so bad though.

Tina,
be sure and report in. Hope the scale is good to you.
Cat, awesome demonstration of willpower. I'm sure you will miss your guests, but maybe not the desserts.
Cottage, have a great day. Any Ruth news reports?
Kara, enjoy your TV time.
Stephanie, enjoy the quiet while you can. Those first moments of peace after the kids leave for school are precious to me.
Gonnabe, have a great Tuesday.
LC, hope you can get in your dancing.
Hi tkglenn! The dress sounds like a great motivator! Get right back on track now and you can do it!
Hi Jules, I looked at your menu on the other thread and it looks great. Weighing and measuring won't hurt anything, but you don't have to do it if you don't want to . That's the beauty of SB. I remember feeling like I was eating too much, but remember, on SB you don't have to feel deprived - or guilty about eating as long as it's the right stuff. You'll do great, glad to have you on the beach!

I bowflexed yesterday and am sore today, but just a little. We started week before last, but got off track last week with sick kids and school closed. This week we are going for MWF, so hopefully we can get in a groove. The bookmobile is also supposed to have my WATP videos. Not sure when I'll be able to try one, since I have a long day at Quantico on Thursday. Maybe if I can get up early tomorrow...
Have a good one chicks!

Hey again...well...the scale wasn't mean to me! I did lose 1 lb...and didn't gain 1! that's always a good thing!
On the way back home all I kept thinking about was....I get to move to Phase 2 now!! woo hoo...oatmealmmmmm fruitmmmmmm wheat toastmmmmmm
LOL
I was talking to my DH on the way home also and I made the statement that I really think watching the biggest loser is kinda detrimental to the normal person...who isn't working out ALL day long and being yelled at by Gillian on an hourly basis, because there you get on the scale and lose one lb there and they look at you like, "Gah, what a loser, what did they do wrong this week, I knew they weren't working out as hard as they could have." But here in the Real World...1 lb lost is 1lb closer to your final goal...it's less then you weighed a week ago, and it's not a gain! Sure I'm thinking...Hmmm, what can I do different to make more of an impact on my scale next week. But even more than any weight loss...I can feel it in my body...My stomach feels smaller...I have more energy, I feel like I'm accomplishing something monumental! And most importantly, I am eating much healthier than I was before! My whole family is!
So yep I'm very happy with my 1 lb loss! wooo hooooo

Schmoodle, you'll have to let me know which video you get and how you like it. I only have one and I'd love to get some more! I hope you find her as amusing as I do!

Tawnya, glad to hear things are smoothed over with you and your husband! Hope everything is on the up and up! I, too, have a hard time with being motivated for long-term slow-moving things like weight loss. I wish I could tell you I'd found a magic way to get through that but I haven't. I have learned that I'm not a patient person, which I thought I was, but I don't know what good that knowledge does me...

Jules, it'll take time to get used to a new plan. Don't beat yourself up! Glad you joined in the chat!

Great attitude, Tina! You rock!

I still haven't watched my show, but I have done a load of laundry and hung it. I CANNOT wait to get back to a washing machine that takes less than an hour and a half to do a load of laundry. I also really miss my food processor. A lot. And counters. I have one teeny tiny two foot square counter here and that's IT.

Off to dream of Wawa and clothes dryers!

Kara
