Default Worried about Rapid weight loss

Hi everyone.
I'm not worried about myself (it's not comming off fast enough lol)
But my best friend had to go on a fat free diet because she was having pain when she was eating and the Doc told her to go fat free.
Well she ended up eating mostly yogurt and veggies. (plus she has two very active jobs)
she started out about 190 and is now 170 it's only been one month. (she's 5' 6" ) To me she looked pale and sickly (but she said she felt great) She stopped the fat free diet two weeks ago and is looking much better.

Is weight loss like this safe? she had some other issues that might have made her look i'll. but I was worried that 20 pounds in a month for someone her size had to be bad.

Oh, and they never did find out what caused her pain.

I think if she was under the supervision of her physician, it would be okay...but that does sound like a LOT in a month...only yogurt and veggies though? Sounds like too many key nutritional components were missing...imho.

Low fat does not mean that she shouldn't have been getting in protein and carbs and keep her intake balanced. However, I must agree with Jaelini. Its not for us to say, if she was under the care of a physician.

What they said. Presumably, if her physician put her on a plan of reduced intake like that, he or she was monitoring her for unsafe weight loss, and determined that the benefits of the diet she was on outweighed any concerns about her weight.

the doc never gave he a diet plan. I told her to at least take come vitamins on this diet.

She's hasn't gained anything back (which is good because she's happy now )
I was just worried that weight comming off that fast might do more harm.
