  • Hi! I'm Rachel!

I'm 22 and a SAHM/Student, I have a one year old son named Connor. I put on weight leading up to pregnancy, gained more well pregnant and haven't lost much. I'm only 5'0" and I was up to 196 during my pregnancy! I now weigh 155 pounds. My husband just enlisted into the Army so we moved to my Mom's (from CA to CO) and I really don't know anyone here. I would like to get to a healthy 125 (or less ) and lose at least 30 pounds between now and March, when my hubby graduates from training (he leaves November 17th). I would really love to make some new friends here and can use any advice you'll give!

I sometimes take a day or two to reply to messages and don't usually get a whole lot of time to myself, my son is VERY demanding and we're in the process of weaning him from breastfeeding. But, I promise I'll be around and posting when I can.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

    -Rachel
  • Hi Rachel, welcome! This is a great group of ladies here. My husband has been in the Marine Corps for a little more than 4 years and i know how stressful military life can be. Good luck on your weightloss!

  • So Rachel, what are you doing to lose the weight??
  • Hey rachel, nice to meet you. Hope you find what you are looking for here, it really is a great forum! See you around.

    Sorry for the delay!!

But, I'm concentrating on eating whole grains and more veggie, drinking no soda, eating fish at least twice a week - no read meat and very limited sugars and other fats.
As far as exercise, mainly high school gym stuff - seriously! Push-ups, sit-ups and my new treadmill!!!

    How about you?

    stephie- thanks for the welcome!
  • Sounds good!! Congrats on the bargain-buy treadmill!!

I am (*now*) trying to keep my calorie range to approx. 1200 of whatever I want/can get my hands on. I also try and exercise but as I am in the midst of 3-4 surgeries in 10-13 mos. I kinda lose my motivation for that sort of thing.
  • Wow! I don't think I have the willpower to go 1200 calories! I'm weaning my son and still eat about 1800 or more. Which is why I only lose about 1 pound a week if I was good 2.

I know I wouldn't work out if I had surgery to look forward too. As it is now, if I stub my toe I would want to take a day off! What are your surgeries for? (If it's not too personal)

(I have to be honest - it's hard to keep up on the posts! I've been spending more time here than studying and I still haven't had a chance to go through a lot of the posts yet! So, if you posted elsewhere I'm sorry!)
  • Lol, this is where I come when I am slacking off from studying!!

No wonder you can't go down to 1200, you are still eating as a bf mama.
I don't know if I could even diet with a baby to look after as well!!!

My surgeries are to correct my body after all of this weight loss (I don't really consider it plastic but reconstructive as I don't really have a normal body for my weight and age, 22).

Yeah, but I stopped losing, because for awhile I used it as an excuse to eat what I wanted. I'm getting back on track though!

Good for you!! Over 100 pounds! That's is freakin awesome! I thought maybe that's what you were doing, but didn't want to assume I wouldn't consider it plastic surgery either!
Are you nervous or more excited?
