All that fun stuff...

So, I'm new...and I have some silly questions.

I've never lost weight, well, other than b/c of the flu. I'm wondering if I lose the 50 lbs I intend to lose...:

-Will I have excess skin/flab? (I know we're young, 20s, me 23, and our skin can do stuff, but I'm not all body smart)
-Will I lose the cellulite?
-What happens to those darned stretch marks?

Some people have excess skin, some do not. It is really more about your genetics than anything. There are other threads around here that talk about this specifically.

With cellulite it is something that is just how your body is. You can be super skinny & still have cellulite while others who are heavy don't have any really. Building muscle can help - but there is really no way to get rid of them.

Stretch marks will fade - but will always kind of be there.

Sorry if this wasn't the answer you were hoping for. Maybe others havea different perspective.

I agree with Lifeguard.

The excess sking thing is genetic, but you are not that over weight so unless you are just prone to that, there's a probability that you won't have any, or much. Strength training while losing weight can help reduce that even if you are prone to it.

The same with cellulite. More than likely it will reduce quite a bit, I know mine sure has! But as Lifeguard said, the skinny ones have it too. Both my sister who is totally tiny (5'2", 110 pounds and 19 years old) and my best friend who is 5'8" and 125 and 24 years old have it a little on the butt and thighs. Only those that are airbrushed are totally free of it, lol.

Stretch marks can fade with time especially with the help of some lotions, BUT some people have them forever, unfortunatly there's not a whole lot to be done if you are prone to it.

There is hope, but also some genetic draw backs.

i've found for me that as i'm loosing weight, my cellulite is slowly going away, i dont expect it will go away completely though. One thing i've heard about cellulite is the less processed foods you eat the less cellulite you'll have. I dont know if its true, but it certainly has been for me.

Thanks ladies.

denice is right. It is a slow process that takes patience. My arms and boobs have finally caught up. My stomach is also catching up, but verrrrrry slowly....

Strech marks do not go away. :(
My body is riddled with them.
