Well ladies, I've been scarce I know. I will be back full force soon though. I'm getting married Friday, holy crap. There's been so much going on (haven't gained weight though, well couldn't really since I have to fit in that dress)! Anyway, wanted to drop by and say hello. I'm planning on going hard core again when we get back from our honeymoon (in Vegas). Plus school starts back like 3 days after we return!

P.S. If you haven't read Jemima J by Jane Green it's a great novel about a girl who is overweight, it's pretty inspirational actually. I've found it to be very enthralling (haven't finished it yet, but plan to tonight). There was a discussion about it on another board, and there were several who found it to be demeaning towards the overweight, but I haven't picked that up at all, it's just realistic actually. Anyway. Hope you all are fabulous!!!

Hi All! I would like to join your weekly chat. I've just redidicated myself to getting healthy. A week ago I got to my highest weight and decided it's time to stop wishing and to start doing. It's completely hard to stop thinking like I have, to start caring and thinking and planning what I eat and not just grabbing whatever. I hope to make better food choices and change my lifestyle. I lost 6lbs this last week so I'm on my way to a better body.

Hi Everyone!
I'm jumping back into the 3FC world. I've had a NEW excuse for not eating healthy and exercising every single week for the last 5 weeks, but alas, no more tricking myself. My healthy self is here to kick some butt!
I hope everyone is having a great week!

Hey girls! Welcome to everyone who is jumping back on the wagon (you should be VERY proud, and excited that you are soon going to be feeling a lot better).

Tomorrow I have my sister's wedding tasting. I already told my family that I am just coming for support and I am not going to eat there (it's at 3 so it's not even for a meal- I definitely don't need any fattening snacks like that.) I hope they don't try and tempt me or make me feel bad about not eating, and that I am able to self control myself to just look and admire, but do not touch.

morning all

well i didn't get my planned exercise in last night - had a headache from the moment i woke up yesterday. i decided to take the night off and will get back into it today. i have a date with billy blanks tonight, so i expect to get my butt kicked. i am still sore from last week's taebo . good news is that i have an hour massage booked for tomorrow - aaaahhhhhh!

i have been busy with other stuff over the last couple of days. i finally created an online album to showcase some of my favorite pics. i want to get a bit more serious and try to expand myself creatively with my photography. part of my 'spiritual' growth

cookiemonster - stay strong and try to avoid temptation. i am sure your family will support your choice - even with all that yummy food there.

denice - great to see you back (and your healthy self )

platinum - welcome and congrats on your loss already!

lockitup - oh oh oh! OMG is the big day here already! Best wishes to both you and your love and I hope the day goes just as you plan. we expect pictures once you are back from the honeymoon.

michelle - you can add me to the "eat like an angel" train for this week. what harm can it do right? congrats on your loss too.

stephie - busy, busy girl! congratulations on your loss! what a great reward for a very busy weekend.

maja - hi chickie! i hope things are well - you are obviously checking in on us

Well ladies, rained again last night so alas no run. Did get some strength training in. tried two new programs that I was wondering about. Both require no weights and rely on either yoga balancing or using a large bath towel for resistance. If they worked I was going to be super happy because I could strength traing while out of town for work without having to lug my heavy free weights. Alas the towel thing not so much, but the yoga postures OMG yes they work great. SO when I go away tonight I am definitely bringing them with me!

I also bought a Caribbean Workout DVD from Walmart that has a pilates, abs, buns, and thigh workouts on it. I am excited to try it. Running time is 169 minutes so it should be fab for helping me to get those exercise minutes in.

Eating went well yesterday, jumped on the scale this morning and I am at 125.4 (down .2 lbs from Mon) so maintaining is the name of the game this week for me. Going out of town for work THURS FRI SAT and SUN so will have to once again be extra good. Michelle my weekend warrior challenge buddy ya ready for another one?!?!?

michelle - yes bring that angelic eating side to your rescue hehe. Ya know a lb loss would be great but even just maintaining and having another great weekend would be doable ya know? I know you can do it, exercise that willpower!

lockitup - Good luck on Friday with that wonderful wedding of yours. I cannot believe it is finally here! And have a great time in Vegas too. See you when you get back.

platinum - W E L C O M E ... you happen to have found the best group of ladies on 3fc! I hope you will find what you are looking for here. I know everyone on this thread are my saving graces when it comes to this challenge.

denice - Welcome back hun, we missed you. Now lets kick some butt.

cookie - stand by your guns, althought those goodies are yummy for sure if you don't think they are worth it - then they aren't. Don't worry what people think...just think about what they will think when you are a smoking hot healthy mama!

Daisy - Where are you keeping your online album at? As on photog to another can I have a looksie? You 've been working hard girlie you DESERVED that time off. Tell Billy I said hi hehe.

eek! I feel like I've been gone forever, even though it`s just been a few days. This whole.. not having the internet thing really sucks. Plus, I've spent days WAITING on the internet guys to come, so this is the first time I've been able to get to work.

Just wanted to stop by and let you guys know I'm still alive! Hopefully I'll be able to catch up tomorrow, but for now I'm off to kinkos...

Hey ladies! Happy Hump day! Or, at least I hope someone's hump day was a happy one!

I am soooooooooo frikkin' tired, not even funny! I was up most of the night with a sunburn on myself and a sick child (asthma). He freaked me out this morning, he couldn't catch his breath.. Man did I ever hop up outta bed so fast to get his inhaler. Sheesh!

So, went to work for 2hrs then bolted an hour and a half away to take both of my asthmatic children to see our specialist with all this nonsense they have going on .. For him to tell me, we're doing everything right.. Only reason we even went is because it had only been a month since the last flare up, for both of them so they make us see the doc.. I did learn though, what i could tell them & I won't have to make the drive, unless it's a dire emergency..So, i'll have to remember what the doc told me.

I'm hoping to get to jog on the treadmill tonight. Monday morning, I got up at 515am and jogged ok the first 1/2mi.. the way back was another story.. most of that was walking.. But, I used to not be able to jog 2blocks without seriously gasping for air.. SOOOO... HUGE improvement IMO. Gonna see how it works on the treadmill tonight, can't go outside because dh is out golfing.. so, someone has to keep these boys in line.. hehe .. Can you imagine what a 2 & 9 yr old would do??

Anyway, week is 1/2 over.. Is it Friday yet? Weight is stable.. Is it too much to ask for the scale to budge just 1 little pound?? I'd be happy with 1.. At least it's not going up.. I should be happy about that.

Decided to take a college course this semester so got signed up for that.. In addition to my independent study course i'm already doing.. What am I thinking?! I am excited though to start taking some classes..

Pumpkin: I sent you a PM with my info for the contest, but haven't heard back from you.. Hope you got it. I'm all gung ho! 20# by Christmas Eve.. That would rock!

Hey guys!
Happy hump day! Thanks goodness it's almost over I haven't eaten much today because I've been feeling bloated and icky thanks to TOM and I am just trying to keep in mind how sweets will only make me feel worse. Monday and Tuesday weren't good eating days for me, so I'm trying to really stick to 1200 calories today and tomorrow. It's actually not too bad if I don't have any sweets (shocking revelation lol). I am so impressed by all of the people on the site who are doing things outside of work and general life stuff...Daisy with your photography, amber taking a college class...I think I need to get involved in something soon! Anyway, well thanks guys for being here and keeping me from running to the candy jar five minutes ago!

hi chickadees

ok, here is the address to the album. as a pro i would appreciate your comments stephie. be gentle - its a work in progress. just mucking around really. next is to actually try to take a great picture http://ahiggins.smugmug.com

went to the gym last night at 7.30pm. it was actually a lot better than when i go at 6.00pm when it is insane and hard to get on the machines. so i am thinking that the graveyard shift is for me - 7.30pm to 8.30pm. the gym shuts at 9pm. means i can get home, do dinner, have dinner, and then get out to melt my butt away. much easier than rushing at the gym to get home to get dinner on.

busy day today. optometrist appointment this morning and then this afternoon i have a FULL BODY MASSAGE! oh, did i forget to mention that

Brooke- Sounds like a good way to make spaghetti more healthy and get some extra veggies in!

Slimming-
Yay for cute skinny shirts!! Clothes really are the best gauge of shaping up, so if you can tell there then you`re on the right track for sure.

Stephie-
Woohoooo!! 2lbs gone. Thats awesome!! And it since you travel so much, those DVDs sound great too. Much better than hotel gyms most of the time.

Michelle- You girls have inspired me to try to do the right thing too!! Way to go on your weight loss!!

Stephanie-
I read Jamima J a few years ago.. pretty entertaining. Reminded me of bridget jones' kind of, just more weight related. Try to stay sane with all the wedding stuff going on and have fun

Platinum-
Welcome!! I like your avatar/icon thing. Angelina is one of my inspiration women. And good luck with your lifestyle changes... sounds like you`re starting out right!

Denice-
Welcome back!!

Daisy- Tae bo and a back massage? Now you're talking.. I love both of those things, although I only get back massages when I'm able to trick boyfriends into it.

amb_lyn- Improvement is what is really important!! Nobody starts off running marathons, ya know? What class are you taking?

Ok! Now that I'm caught up... this week has been baaad food wise. Not just what I've been eating, but what I've been THINKING. All those old food demons reared their ugly heads but today has been better. It is a combination of hormones, poor planning, and not maintaining any kind of system to keep myself in check (like this, blogging, or any kind of food journaling.) I finally updated my food log today, and I feel surprisingly releived.

Got up this morning at 6 to go to the gym since the university gym closes early from now until school starts. That felt really good, and I plan on doing it again tomorrow even though it's.. my 21st birthday! hehe... I'm so excited for myself. Tomorrow night my friends and I are going out to dinner in Charlotte, and then going bar hopping. We got a hotel downtown across from the restraunt, so nobody has to be the DD.

Wasted ~ I am taking College English 1.. Gotta start with a bunch of pre-reqs so thought i'd start there.. I wanted to add Intermediate Algebra but I couldn't find a class that would work with my schedules.

Jogged on my treadmill last night.. Did well IMO.. Only stopped 3x for 30secs each until the last 1/4mi then I walked at a 3.0.. I jogged at a 4.0-4.2mph. It was a good pace for me.. Hoping to do something tonight for a bit longer.. Even if it's just 5 more mins but I need to start increasing my time I think.

Had a decent day.. Although, am STARVING today for some reason! I can't tell you how hungry i've been ALL day! And i've eaten.. LOL

The massage was wonderful. I wish the feeling you have while getting the massage could hang about for a while afterwards. My muscles are a bit sore this morning though. I remember reading that a massage can warrant some stretching afterwards as it is equivalent to a yoga workout (in a sense). She really worked my back and my calves though - obviously great timing for me to get a massage. definately going onto my rewards list for a future date.

I didn't get any exercise in afterwards as I decided to treat my boyfriend to a nice dinner and a bottle of red. All it takes is a nice steak, slightly seasoned and not overcooked to please him. He seemed to like it.

I am concerned I won't get any exercise in for the next two days aswell. Tonight I am looking after my boyfriends daughter which means no gym, and tomorrow I will be out all day. I am thinking and early morning session on Saturday might be the go before my day starts.

stephie - is the yoga workout the surf one in the july self issue? i finally found the mag yesterday after my trip to the "spa". i think i might prefer shape over self though. congrats on the extra loss too!

I have always been told after massages to drink lots of water and that helps with not being so sore

I am out of town this weekend for several family birthdays. See if I can behave so I can report back healthy and happy on monday
