**Weekly Chat - May 8 - May 14**

Good morning ladies

I have a horrible headache this morning and have been all sniffly. I am hoping it is just hay fever and not a cold coming on.

the weekend was a bust food and exercise wise, although i certainly was not sedentary. i went and bought a stack of plants for our soon to be backyard. camellias, magnolias, vibernum, gardenias and also a small tree. this week OH will help me to map out the garden beds and we can condition them this week and i can get planting on the weekend. i have a couple more plants to get before this coming weekend. it will look great. also, this means i can get started preparing garden beds for my vegetable patch in spring! i am so excited. lots of salad greens, some root vegetables, tomatoes, cucumbers, hopefully blueberries, raspberries and strawberries and all sorts of other goodies.

so, tonight i will be getting in some much needed exercise and then will be sitting down to plan out the reticulation of the garden. i need to make dinner somewhere in between too :D

trns - you passed my minutes but i am going to catch up! ;)

i hope everyone had a good weekend.

angelfadedblue 05-07-2006 10:46 PM

Hello to all- another day, another week of moving towards our new "lifestyle!"
:D
So here's my dilema.. I've been doing really good with my eating.. no chocolate, no cravings, I'm staying within my calorie intake as planned.. well, within a couple hundred. .. OK, but I cant get my butt motivated to work out!?! so Does anyone have any great stories about loosing weight.. or how you feel since you lost it? i need a little more motivation to just hop on my elliptical (which I moved smack-dab in the middle of my living room) when watchin tv or something. I know once I get going and doing it, i get hooked on it, but its getting started again that's my issue. :strong:

So- anyone have any words of wisdom for those of us that need an extra push?

stacylambert 05-08-2006 01:38 AM

Back from Vegas!

I had a really good time! Can't wait to go back and actually see some shows and spend some more time in the casinos. Almost the whole weekend was taken up with supercross and mini-moto. I waited in line for 2 hours to get Reed's autograph but I did it! He's so gorgeous up close. Yum. He came in third in rthe ace and 2nd overall for the season. Not too bad.

I did gamble some with no problem as far as my age. I guess I look older than I am. The cocktail waitresses even offered me drinks.

I ate a lot of garbage this weekend but we walked for HOURS so I don't think I did a lot of damage. Can't wait to eat healthy and get back in the gym though.

Daisy, I am sooooo jealous. I'd love to have a garden. I have a strip of the dirt in my back "yard" that's literally 6 inches wide. Not much of a garden there.

Here's to a new week ladies! :lifter: :woops: :dust: :goodscale

chicagoposter 05-08-2006 09:36 AM

Daisy- I hear you on the cold thing.

on thursday/friday i had the worst cold/sore throat. then the rest of this weekend i woke up so congested and stuffy. today i think i'm going to battle the gym. but it's just so frustrating because i feel like i already "failed" for may. i know that's not the case, but still. it stinks to be putting 0 for the amount that i worked out.

the good news, i did a lot of walking on saturday and sunday, probably about 60 minutes. not really working out, but heck, i'm going to count that because i calculated that i walked 3 miles on saturday and 4 miles on sunday.

the other good news, i am maintaining my vegetarianess (is that a word?). it's not really been an issue, except for a couple of times. for instance yesterday for breakfast/lunch, we went to Chipotle (i know bad, but i ate half for lunch and half for dinner, oatmeal for breakfast..that's all the whole day) and when she asked me what kind of meat, i had to think, then i said to myself, "oh yeah, i don't eat meat"...."veggie please". the veggie isn't the healthiest thing, but split up it can't be HORRIBLE (i know i could look it up but i'm scared :o ). so, despite the pitfalls with my cold, at least i'm succeeding at one thing.

the bad news, beside the not gym exercising, is that i am eating too many carbs. i've read that a lot of vegetarian diets can be higher in carbs, and i definitely see myself reaching for the carbs instead of the veggies. i need to work on that.

overall, i'm pretty happy with how this weekend went despite being sick.

stacylambert- congrats on getting his autograph. :D he is cute (i remember from your avatar).

angelfadedblue- i think you just need to do it. tell yourself that you can buy a magazine, or plan to workout during a show. at the gym i like to workout during jeopardy, the baseball game, and deal or no deal because i can listen to my music and still watch the t.v. without needing sound.

teahoney 05-08-2006 09:47 AM

Somehow in the midst of the two weeks of me being crippled and sick, I lost 6.5 pounds. It always seem that when I take the pressure off myself and chill out, my body is more willing to release the pounds. Interesting.

chicagoposter 05-08-2006 09:50 AM

teahoney- if you could market the sick on your butt and relax weight loss plan, you would be a billionaire (i would definitely sign up). ;)

congrats!!! 6.5 lbs. is HUGE!!!

trnsfrmnreplace 05-08-2006 10:03 AM

Morning May 8th - 400 minutes

Well I'm at 400 minutes thus far. I got a great run in on Saturday. I ran a mile straight, so amazing for someone that couldn't even do 1/3 of a lap a month ago. I shaved off 8 minutes off my total time for two miles. It is still bad timing but it is really motivating me anyway.

I was suppose to hit the gym last night as well but i got home from being at the recording studio with my OH. By the time i got home it was 12. Tonight it is though.

:dust:

I miss not having to wake up early to work !!! :( I get my second paycheck this Friday. That keeps me motivated to go in everyday. I still need to go take my car into the shop sometime this week from the accident that happened on Thursday last week. =sighs= How do you do this when you work during shop hours??? :/

Daisy - You need to take photos of the garden once its done. I may have passed your minutes but you are doing so good! Let's race! Hope you aren't getting sick.
angelfadedblue - Treat yourself with something special every 7 days you work out on it. It might motivate you to get to your butt on it. Try the minutes challenge! It helps a lot of us out to have a exercise minutes goal to work towards.
stacylambert - I'm glad you had fun in Vegas! I haven't been there since i was 13. Couldn't do much when i went.
chicagoposter - Make sure to get all your needed nutrients. I went veg for a few months, my body didn't agree with it too much. Then again I'm not too much of a meat eater anyway these days.
teahoney - Great job on the 6.5 loss! Lucky you!

Stephanie Osborne 05-08-2006 10:59 AM

Back from my trip. Everything went fine. A lot of work. Was not able to workout on Sat as I planned but Sunday I went golfing and then hiking so I think I made up for it. The best part was I had company doing both of those things so they hardly felt like work. Back to the weekly grind today but hey its easier to be back in a routine throughout the week. I will be travelling out of town again next Friday/Saturday so will have to load up my exercise prior to then...Today I need to get a run and strength training in.

daisy - Wish there was a way you could count that gardening, I know it is hard work!

angie - I would check out lockitups blog http://www.stephsthing.blogspot.com/ in addition to eating well she had pretty much made herself a slave to working out...JUst remember that muscle burns more calories that fat...and then there is always the quote "Dieting makes you look good, Exercise makes you look good naked." which is soooo true...

stacy - glad you had a great time on your trip, and go you for getting his autograph. I imagine it was just beautiful out there.

chicago - walking is counted as working out :) Its learning to squeeze it in when and where you can that makes a huge difference.

tracey - congrats !!! I was wondering where you were had not heard from you since your injury news.

maja - you are racking up those minutes. I have been super busy but I am intent on catching up lol. Hows it feel to be both mine and daisies motivation eh? Hope your liking you job better.

rosiek2277 05-08-2006 01:25 PM

This weekend was the first weekend that I did not log my points on WW online since I just cancelled my membership. But today I am going to try and start keeping a log of my food and watching everything I eat.

I also did no excercise this weekend. Tonight I will get my butt on the treadmill.

I've decided that I need to give up ranch dressing completely, I have tried eating it in moderation and it's just to high in fat to even consider it a healthy option.

Daisy Boo -- Good Luck with the garden!

angelfadedblue -- I seem to be having the same problem...

chicagoposter -- This is so exciting, I'm hoping that I can return to my vegetarian lifestyle sometime soon also. But for now I have a lot to work on.

trnsfrmnreplace -- Congratulations! I jogged my 1st mile last weekend it took me 20 minutes! Considering I used to run 7 minute miles about 5 years ago it was rather shocking to know how much I'd let myself go.

I hope this week is great for all of US!

miss michelle 05-08-2006 06:28 PM

daisy, i hope you are feeling better!

angel, i read somewhere that a good motivator is to write down how good you feel after you work out in a journal or similar type thing that you can then look back at whenever you don't feel like excercising.

rosie, have you tried light ranch? tastes the same to me :)

stephie, have fun with all the traveling! it does certainly break up the daily grind :)

my weekend wasn't bad eating wise, but i had a couple of slip ups that i really paid for on the scale (i am up a pound and a half since a week ago!!!) since i was home tuesday through sunday, i had time to go to the grocery store and buy food and everything...which meant i had stuff in the fridge to binge on. it was so bad...i probably binged pretty hard core three or four times. on saturday night i got home from the movies and was hungry...so i had a grilled cheese, a bowl of cereal, and a yogurt. YIKES. i wasn't THAT hungry. when i got up in the morning, my boyfriend says "do you want to go to breakfast, or are you too full from eating so much last night?" he meant it in a nice way (i hate going out to eat when i'm not hungry) but it was definitely an eye opener that i WAS eating too much food! since then i have been trying a lot harder just to make healthy choices, even if they aren't perfect. and i haven't binged :)

Daisy Boo 05-08-2006 09:39 PM

*sigh* no exercise yesterday :(

i ended up tidying up the house while cooking dinner and downed a couple of litres of water - i was so thirsty last night.

i still have a headache and my throat is a little sore. the glands were up on the weekend but . . . argh! who knows! i am not going to think about it and just toddle on.

trns - bring it on! :boxing: stephie and i are right behind you ;)

trnsfrmnreplace 05-08-2006 09:49 PM

I didn't feel too great today, and even though as much as i wanted to leave work, i didn't. I felt so nauseated. I feel a bit better right now. I'm tired. I have a ton to do still tonight, including the gym.

Life is slowly changing. Well i got to go grab some dinner dowstairs.
I'm STARVING! [like always]

Did you know we have done
74 HOURS
4,430 MINUTES

of exercise as a group thus far?! Keep up the great work!

:bravo:

stephanie - It makes me smile to know i can motivate others. :) The job is bringing me money for now that is all that matters. I'm also learning a lot by trail and error while i work. This will do till i advance to the next level. I'm happy.
rosiek2277 - Thank you! Sheesh, I've never been able to run a 7 minute mile. Right now I'm at a slow 12. I went from doing 2 miles in 35 minutes to 2 miles in 27. Keep up the good work and you'll reach your 7 minutes again, i on the other hand, I don't know. haha.
miss michelle - I've been running to the fridge more frequently this month. I'm not sure what it is.
DaisyBoo - Hahaha. Let's get it ON!

Stephanie Osborne 05-09-2006 04:31 AM

Ok ladies went golfing yesterday as well as ran prior to getting to sleep. Problem is I did not get to sleep until 3 hours after I laid down. I am a sports photographer mostly and I will have a lag in the time when high school sports end and summer time sports begin. So I decided to sign on for more hours with my at home boringhumdrum job. Trouble is the only *extra* work they have that will put me at full time right now is coordinated with the daytime hours in the UK (I am in Colorado) so I am working 2 am my time to 10 am my time until further notice. I just thought I had a crazy schedule. I am having to fit in the occasional photo as well. Good thing is I can go back to my normal (less hours) schedule whenever I say uncle. But right now it is 2:30 am...I am working until about 9 then I have to drive 3 hours for a photoshoot that will last about an hour and a half and then 3 hours home. Then pass out rofl. Oh yeah squeeze a workout in there somewhere. Oh my gosh this is just madness.

rosie - sounds like you are doing great at just watching your calories. I eat carbwell ranch, it is south beach approved. Lower on the carbs, I am not sure how it is on fat. You can hardly taste the difference though.

miss michelle - My entire life is a grind lol, but when I travel it is as a photographer which is my dream job. It is my mundane second job that gets the best of me lol. My hubby says things that he has no idea could be taken the wrong way too lol, MEN!

daisy - I hope you are not getting sick hun. You know what I do is try to have a lower impact workout tape. If I am feeling sick or just unmotivated I know I can at least muster following a workout tape.

maja - Being so dedicated to your work is what will bring you success with it. Nice to see your profession gets as much of your discipline as your workouts do :)

Sushi Penguin 05-09-2006 05:56 AM

Hi Everyone!

I got a temp job for the next week or two, with just enough notice to make it there today. I'm so broke, had to borrow money for the train tickets! Anyhow, I don't think I'll be able to check in here much... So just sending my greeting and good vibes to everyone right now, for the whole week! :)

miss michelle 05-09-2006 11:24 AM

hi guys
i hope everyone is doing well :) i had a good eating and excercising day yesterday. it sure felt good! my boyfriend has me convinced that even though the numbers on the scale aren't moving (actually they are up slightly), i am gaining muscle not fat. i want to believe him, but if i can keep up more days like yesterday i think i will lose some more of this pudginess ;) i have been noticing, though, my workouts getting easier, so maybe he is right!

daisy, i hope you feel lots better. i HATE being sick. make sure the get lots of rest and take some vitamins :)

sushi, thanks for the good vibes!

stephie, your schedule reminds me of being back in college! i actually prefer to be really busy..it keeps me from mindlessly snacking :)

trns, i hope you feel better also. remember that if you are getting sick its important to take a break from the gym (i know, ok mom)

i hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

rosiek2277 05-09-2006 04:22 PM

miss michelle -- I've tried FF ranch and it tastes a funny to me.

britomart 05-09-2006 06:55 PM

Hey gals..... I've been MIA for a while, but here I am again.

First of all: look! look! I moved my ticker!! For like, the first time in two months!! It feels good to see something other than 195 down there.

I got a stomach bug thing for a day and a half. It wasn't too bad.... Just annoying, really. about 48 hours of nausea, one excruciating up-chucking session, and a 24 hour headache. Not sure what got into me, but at least it's gone now. Since I didn't eat for a day and a half, I kind of took the opportunity to think of myself as a "blank slate" to start clean eating again... Not that it's a good thing to do (up-chucking for motivation), but because this stomach thing set in after my biggest binge in a month (I've been really great lately -- maybe the stomach thing happened because I shoved so much crap into it and it just rebelled)..... I see it as a "lesson learned."

So far, so good. I have trouble controlling what I eat while I live with my dad, but I sure can control how much I eat. So my stomach bug got me back to 194, and two days of eating later, I'm at 193.5. Usually weight lost due to illness hops back on for obvious reasons (body shock), but apparently I'm doing something okay this time..... I don't want it back!! :)

My sister accidentally got two copies of the TurboJam workout and the BeachBody diet stuff that comes with it, so she's giving one to me. I dunno if I'll do the diet -- I can't do super low-carb due to blood sugar problems -- but the workout looked like a lot of fun. Can't wait to try that and get back on to the exercise wagon!

In other news, me and the man have decided to get married this October. It's sort of a long story, and I've typed enough, but long story short our potential wedding date kept getting pushed back and pushed back until we were looking at 2008, at which point we had to re-evaluate our priorities: WE are our priorities! We want to get married, why keep letting other things get in the way?? And now there's extra impetus to lose some weight by the fall ;)

Stephie, Stephanie updated her blog. Sounds like she's okay, though I wish she'd pop in to say hi too!

Congrats to everyone on their exercise and weight loss progress.... y'all are doing great :D

Stephanie Osborne 05-10-2006 04:31 AM

OMG all it is 2:30 am here I am still not over the initial shock that I am working right now lol. Yesterday was crazy. My 8 hour trip ended up being 11 HOURS! Needless to say when I got home at 8 p.m. and needed to be up and working at 2 a.m. I did not fit in a workout - just tried to get right to sleep. Today should be more normal. No photo work after my work at home job. Will have to reschedule my strength training and yoga for then. As for eating I am not really sure what to do with this new schedule. Since I am up and working from 2 am to 10 am should I be eating breakfast and lunch during those times? Or since this schedule is only temporary (1-2 months) should I stick to my normal eating?

SUSHI - glad to hear you found some employment. Good luck this week, sorry to hear you won't be on much.

miss michelle - Do you feel like your body is rearranging? My scale was not budging but I started feeling better about what I saw in the mirror, sure enough I took my measurements and everything that was being worked on was down...maybe take your measurements? This schedule is interesting to say the least.

brito - You made it home! How is working out and living with the parents going? Congrats on that ticker change. I will have to look at steph's blog I was really worried about her.

trnsfrmnreplace 05-10-2006 09:58 AM

545 minutes | 10:59 | 65

Good morning everyone.

I feel blah this morning. Pre-monthly nausea? :tired:
I'm extremely tiered. I'm not sure how I'm going to function at work today.

I noticed how bad the people eat at work. How do all you ladies fight the temptations? I bring my own lunch/snacks but it's still hard.

Last night i shed another MINUTE off my mile time since my fastest time to date the night before. I also upped my weights from 50 to 65 on the arm machine. [I couldn't even do the 20 pounds a month ago] I am excited how things are going for me... endurance and fitness wise. :lifter:

miss michelle 05-10-2006 12:25 PM

Trns, I totally know what you mean. The coworker I share my office with used to have a giant Kit Kat every afternoon (and I mean every afternoon). Luckily though some of my good eating habits have rubbed off on her, and we even go to bootcamp together in the mornings :) So try to be a good example and don't give in to the pressure!

spillthebeans 05-10-2006 12:39 PM

i bring my own lunch & snacks also.

It's hard some days when everyone is ordering out and I can't because it's all fried stuff on the menu. Everyone has now noticed that I don't join in on ordering, so they don't even ask, which is nice, that way I am not tempted.

Some days it sucks, because when I do decide to get something out of the snack machine everyone feels the need to ask if that is on my diet...which, that's great...but give me a break people!!!! Geez...

Megan1982 05-10-2006 01:06 PM

Hi everyone,

The busy-ness continues in my life. My play (somebody asked what type of play last week - just a comedy at our small community theater) went on all weekend and was quite a hit. Friday night I went home after the performance feeling very ill, and I've been battling a nasty cold/flu-like thing since. I've finally been able to catch up on some sleep in the past few nights but now I'm getting ready for out-of-town guests coming in tomorrow for a long weekend. I'm bummed that I'm sick b/c this is one of my best friends, and she's never seen where I live. Still, Dayquill and Robitussin are doing wonders. I've been medicated on Advil to keep my fever down, too, so my knee has stopped hurting. But the minute I stop taking it the pain comes back, so I don't know what to do about this stupid thing...don't have many options...anyways. I gained 1/2 lb. this week, but that's all I've gained since I stopped doing cardio nearly 3 weeks ago now. This weekend I'll be active with my guests, so that will hopefully help keep the weight down. Just wanted to stop in and say hi.

I don't go out to eat with co-workers, and luckily the only person who keeps a candy jar is quite a ways away. I always pack a healthy lunch and snacks, and I keep a few "emergency snacks" in my desk like 100-cal packs, unsweetened applesauce, tuna, and Chewy granola bars just in case. Once in a while I'll go ahead and have a brownie or cookie or whatever someone brings in, write it in my food journal, and move on.

britomart, how exciting!

miss michelle, as long as your clothes aren't getting tighter I wouldn't worry.

Sushi, yay for getting a job!

stephiewilliams, those are crazy hours for sure. You need fuel for your work"day", not to sleep, so I'd try to change your eating times a bit. Maybe let your stomach dictate when you eat, after it adjusts to the time change.

rosiek2277, FF ranch tastes funny to me too, but there is also a reduced fat that is between the regular and FF that tastes ok to me. Have you tried that?

angelfadedblue 05-10-2006 11:11 PM

I know exaclty what you mean Trns, Ive come to figure out, if you cant beat em, join em. Well, but in a good way.. I bring in fresh veggies - cucumbers and peel them at work so the smell wafts down the isle... carrots, fresh cut up fruit also is appealing, and i bring enough to set a big plate on my desk for those people who like to stop by and graze in everyone's cube. Then everyone is like... OOOO! Fruit! and im all happy cuz i have good food that other people like too and dont feel miserable when someone is eating a snickers or cheetos..

Stephanie Osborne 05-11-2006 04:27 AM

Third day of early waking...and it is not getting any easier believe me. Yesterday when I got off in the morning I fell asleep for like 3 hours making my grand total on sleep 7 hours. This is about what I normally get but having it bookend my working time is weird. In light of the crazy schedule I got my run in yesterday. Went to the park. It was crazy hard and had to get used to sucking wind in front of others. On a good note I can feel it everywhere today, especially in my butt, hips, and abs. YAY everywhere I am trying to focus on. Also did an hour of pilates/yoga to kind of chip away at my exercise goal. I will be out of town Friday/Sat for a photo shoot and my birthday so I have to get the hours in when I can. Today have to finish working my at home job then may try to squeeze in some cardio and or water aerobics with my sister in law. I am trying to get her to become more active...its hard for her though, the gym intimidates her big time.

ps: eating was angelic yesterday :) Water consumption although not perfect was nothing to be ashamed of either. Overall a pretty good day.

maja - Can't help you with the co worker food woes. When I worked downtown I was as guilty as the rest of them. I would bring healhty lunches or snacks and then ruin my eating with a vending machine picnic. You are making some hella progress and it shows...congrats.

miss michelle - Thats a good suggestion. If you cannot beat them inspire them to be better and solve your problem that way.

spill - Its crazy how consumed people are when you are dieting. Like it is any of their business. When my husband or I are dieting, my mother in law will constantly ask "So are you still dieting..."?

Megan - Your suggestion about my eating makes sense. Still feels weird to be hungry at 4 am and allowed to eat rofl. Sorry to hear you are sick. That is awesome your play went well though, congrats.

angel - Bringing in fruit for everyone sounds expensive. What a good co worker though treating everyone to a healthy snack though!

AndreaHope 05-11-2006 08:19 AM

Hey ladies!!

It's been awhile! I graduated and moved in with my BF. It's only been a week, but I don't have a job (and probably won't until schools reopen in August) and he works 60 hour weeks. Needless to say I think I might get bored. I also don't really like the house (not to look a gift horse in the mouth, since its free to us) and I seem to like it LESS the more I'm in it.

Annnnnd we have carpenter ants. I'm a huge bug-phobe so this is very upsetting to me. They are in our food cabinets (though we have packed all our food in containers or bags that zip). My dad has offered to pay for the extermination, but its really expensive so I feel bad. PLUS they can't come for two weeks. Two weeks with the ants. I wish I was not such a spaz.

Eating has been eh. I don't seem to have the motivation, though my pants are getting tighter. I still think I'm about 142, so I have about 6 lbs to go. This seems to be the norm for the last 5 months! Argh.

Congrats to all the grads, fiances, and ladies with new jobs!!

Andrea :)

miss michelle 05-11-2006 11:33 AM

Hi Andrea! It's good to have you back :)

My workouts have been going ok...for some reason yesterday I got on the treadmill and only ran about 2/3 of my workout. I don't know what was wrong with me, I just wasn't feeling right. I got off and did some weight lifting and felt better later. I have really been tracking my food for the past week, and it shows. I am down three pounds since Monday! I swear, if I can just keep this up for a month or so I can get to my goal weight FINALLY. It has been hard keeping away from temptation, and it is just going to get harder when I get back to my apartment and have all that food sitting in front of me. When I get back, I am going to do my best to get rid of any food sitting around that I know I will binge on that isn't my roomate's. I think I will also ask her to get rid of some of the sweet stuff she just has lying around (of course, that isn't a problem for her). I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Daisy Boo 05-11-2006 09:23 PM

where is the banging head against a brick wall emoticon :frypan:

this week has been a shocker. i have eaten crap, i have not exercised - a complete write off. for some reason this week has been really tough as all i have been thinking about is having a cigarette. it has now been 4 weeks since i quit (5 weeks tomorrow!) and this is the hard yards i think. however, to put your minds at rest - i have not relented and am still smoke free ;)

i even went and bought peanut m&m's last night, i was that agitated - and i never go out to buy junk food. having said that - i just realised that the first night i quit i got the m&m's too.

anyway, this weekend i will bring myself back on target for my exercise and i will be eating completely clean.

stacy - your new avatar is so hot! love it!

andrea - i hate ants too. it feels so invasive when they find a way in the house. i put peppermint oil down at the entry ways they had made into the house and it deters them. give it a go. just a drop here and there.

trns - my workmates aren't too bad. most are reasonably health conscious. we have a fruit tray delivered to the department each morning so that is always a good option for a snack. i try to keep some multigrain crackers and cheese slices in the fridge here for a snack if i get really hungry. the biggest tempation at my work is all the morning teas. we have them for birthdays and when people leave and today will be the second one this week.

stephie - your routine is insane  well done on getting your exercise in and eating clean. great job!

michelle - well done on the 3lbs! fantastic reward for the hard work you are putting in.

stacylambert 05-12-2006 03:48 AM

My goodness ladies! It seems like I can't get a solid week of diet/exericise without SOMETHING going on....

WARNING: Period stuff ahead..Read at your own risk ;)

So I've always had really painful periods. Like to the point where I lay in bed and miss school/plans/housework for 2-3 days. I've told my doctos and all they've ever done is swith me around to different BC pills. It's been getting reeeeally bad lately and I've been having spotting, flu-like symptoms, worse pain etc. I was in the mall today searching for a mother's day present and it got so bad I left and went straight to the doctor. They did the normal exam and took a urine sample for a PREGNANCY test. So I left with a prescription for diflucan (slight infection) and vicodin (for the pain). That's it! My goodness. Even if I do have a yeast infection that's NOT why I've had debillitating cramps/symptoms for 10 years! And pregnant? HULLO I'm having my period. I really hate doctors. The ONLY good thing that came from this visit they told me to come back next week for a follow up and if I'm "still having problems" they'll give me a referral to a gynecologist (I have to go to the family doctor-HMO crap). That "still having problems" thing pissed me off royally. It's like I've have this for 10 years and they think I'll be better in a week?

Ok, that's enough of that. My second rant for the week.

So yea all of this is really effecting my weight loss. It seems like its always a trip or a holiday or I'm sick or SOMETHING. Does anyone else feel like this? I lost 30 pounds from October to December and only 10 pounds from December to May. There could have been a potential FORTY more gone! I could kick my own butt!

Daisy, thanks! Yours inspired me. I looked around the internet for a good hour until I found that one. I got a couple other on reserve too ;)

Hi gals :)

Missing the chitchat!

My job is alright. Very repetitive, and my throat is so sore from all the talking (it's phone work). It's a temp job, so it won't last more than 2 weeks, but it's good to be getting some money at last. I hope something more permanent comes along very very soon though.
Because of work and the long train ride there and back, I've been off track with food and exercise the last few days. I'm hoping to do some catching up over the weekend. Next week should be easier, I'll have settled into the routine.

Stacy, I so feel for you with the pains! I used to suffer terribly during my periods as well, fortunately the first BC pill I got put on seemed to sort it out and the pains haven't come back even though I went off it. Blood tests are so useles in this situation, I don't get why they do them! But what got to me even more was the lack of understanding - at school, at work, from family, everywhere. I hope you'll be able to find some long-term remedy soon!

Daisy, don't think cigarette, think tic tac! :)

Okay, I have to go to sleep... tired after the long week. I haven't worked since February, so it's tough to go full-time after weeks and weeks of leisure. Tired!

Hey Ladies... Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!

I've got beautiful weather here, and while I haven't specifically gone out to do exercise today, I've been pretty active -- we have 150 small fruit trees which I had to spray this morning (think: lugging 7 gallons of liquid on your back, 3 gallons at a time, up and down hills because nothing's flat here). That was fun but pretty tiring. Then me, little makeshift farmhand, decided to turn the garden so we can get our vegetables in asap. The plot for the garden had been plowed, but nothing else... So I've been out there digging up rocks, throwing out turf, and whacking away at the ground with a hoe. It's pretty intense!! So manual labor is my substitution for a structured workout today. Eating has been okay but I must say I've seen pizza more times than any one person should in the past week.

Anyway, back out to the garden I go. I really want to plant something tomorrow.....

Have a happy Saturday! :)

Hi girls...I've been lurking every day, but haven't really stopped by to say hello. Reason being I am really struggling lately with unhealthy means of continuing my weight loss (if you've read my blog you know what I mean and can probably guess if not). This week has been good and bad. I am done with school, but I got in a car accident last Sunday (am going to the Dr. today) and by neck and back are screwed up, so workouts have been kind of out of the question because I am scared to make it worse. The new job is still going well. My fiance and I got some huge student loans which are really going to help with bills, but they are on hold at the bank for 2 weeks because they are so big, so it's there but we can't touch it (very frustrating).

I just wanted to stop by and say hi. It seems like everyone is doing really well. I miss chatting with everyone, but I feel guilty to converse while having the issues that I am. Hopefully I will be back in full swing soon! I miss you ladies.
