I swear by String Cheese and 100 calorie snack packs!

Sugar Free/Fat Free Jello are always good too!

I've been eating these snacks for years! (Unfortunately I've been pairing them with chocolate!)

I snack on fruit and veggies, but I also have the 100 calorie packs handy. I also love string cheese and cottage cheese. I usually eat a snack in between each meal

**I love the Jello Strawberry cheesecake cups...they are in the pudding aisle and they are a good portioned out dessert, its only about 130 calories and it tastes soooo good.

Thanks for all the great ideas!! I went today & bought some more string cheese and i bought some yogurt & granola cereal & grape nuts cereal. I think those would hold me over better than some of those others.

Baby carrots
Grapes
Cottage cheese
Handful of cereal
Baby carrots
100 calorie snack bags
Yogurt
A few nuts
Baby carrots

I've noticed that the amount of carrots I go through pretty much corresponds to how well I've been sticking to my diet even though I don't consciously try. I just tend to replace the fatty and starchy snacks with baby carrots and that somehow works for me (except when it's my TOM and I decide that a candy bar makes a good dinner)

Unless in a bind, I've tried to give up the 100-calorie snack packs to replace them with more whole foods (just something I'm trying to do to get rid of as much sodium as humanly possible so I can stop using it as an excuse for retaining water!). I also don't find them very filling, personlly (although I agree they are yummy!).
  • I LOVE to make smoothies when I'm home at night as a snack (just whole frozen strawberries, a banana, and some skim milk blended together).
  • I also have a new-found love for frozen grapes (I prefer red, but green are good, too, and being frozen, it takes longer to eat them).
  • Also new on my list are dried cranberries (1/4 cup goes a long way when you actually eat them one at a time ).
  • Another thing I've heard that I still need to try is a whole-wheat tortilla with some natural peanut butter (and by "natural," I mean the only ingredient is peanuts--no oil, no salt, no nonsense!) spread on it wrapped around a banana and popped in the microwave for a few seconds--sounds delightful!
I try not to snack during the day at work, but I do cave when I get home. My worst time of day is between whenI get home at about 3:30pm and when my boyfriend gets home at about 4:30-5pm. That hour or 2 spent home alone gets me every time, so I need to keep some healthy snacks on hand so I don't reach for the chips or leftover Chinese take-out or anything else I shouldn't be eating every day

String cheese (sounds like everybody's favorite)
Almonds
Peanuts
Yogurt
Smoothies
Grape or cherry tomatoes
Pickles
Olives
Sugar-free fudgecicles

The nuts really satisfy my hunger, but you have to be careful not to eat too many.

Smilla: OMG the nerve! I'd have been so mad, some people just don't have any manners!

Jillybean: I LOVE natural peanut butter, I buy "Teddy" brand and I get the chunky kind. It's so good, I'd never go back to regular peanut butter. The taste of the natural one is so much better.

Another idea with the wheat tortilla is to spread it with Laughing Cow Light cheese wedge and some chopped tomatoes, peppers, and onions. Microwave just until hot... YUMMY!

I snack on a few choice things that I keep stocked at ALL times! lol:
- The favorite...string cheese!
- Low fat deli meats
- Fresh broccoli with Low Carb ranch veggie dip
- Sugar Free Jello (when I have that sweet craving)
- Also, if I have a sugar craving, I'll have a couple spoonfuls of the South Beach approved Cool Whip. It's way yummy, and gets rid of that pesky craving, quickly!
