coconut oil helps diminish stretch marks. HONEST! Just rub the oil into the marks daily (coconut oil is solid at room temperature) ;)

Oh, yeah I've got them... on my breasts (though those aren't very noticeable anymore), belly, sides, and upper arms... the most embarrassing thing was when my boyfriend and I were starting to get to know each other better (you know what I mean), he didn't know what they were and asked me if I had been in some sort of accident or something. I didn't know what to tell him!
One thing to keep in mind is that even relatively healthy-sized people can get them. My one firend is 5'6'', 140 pounds, and she has them on her thighs and love handles (or "chunkas," as someone so eloquently put it :D). So we should all try not to feel so bad about them-- for better or worse, they're just a natural thing. |
They say that stretch marks are more likely to occur in those with dry skin as opposed to oily skin. I suffer from the former, so I'm trying to take in more water and I add wheatgerm oil to my bath water (traps moisture and gives my skin a nice shine). I also use cocoa butter as well as almond oil and tangerine oil mixed with finely ground oats to make a nice homemade exfolliant! Hope this helps!!

I think almost everyone has stretch marks. I have them on my breasts, lower back, and hips. To be honest, it doesnt bother me. I know from experience that they fade. In high school I had them on the back of my knees but those are gone now. Just concentrate on your weight loss for now and dont worry about stretch marks. they'll take care of themselves and it's not worth getting upset over.

I got some very bad stretch marks when I hit puberty; I got a lot taller and filled out very quickly, and my body was apparently not at all ready to handle it! I also have a friend who has never been even 1 pound overweight in her life, but she has them all over because of a gigantic growth spurt. So it's an issue every type of woman has to deal with, and chances are there wasn't a whole lot you could've done to prevent them. :/

I have them bad on my stomach, I got them while I was pregnant, but I also got up to 260 when I was pregnant. I have them on the back of my knees, they are faded and ya can tell, on my arms, but I dont care. Im very white, irish, so they arent that noticable, except on my stomach , it looks like freddy kruger ripped me to shreds. I have two words for you....
PLASTIC SURGERY Well.. ok Two words for me. Im all for P.S. especially if you have lost a ton of weight and deserve it. |
I have one on my side and hips, thighs, backs of my knees. I am not overweight but I have a small frame and any weight I seem to gain always goes to the same places. Thus in clothes I look great, naked tends to be a different story.

I don't have stretch marks, it seems I finally have something to thank my genes for, but my boyfriend (very very skinny) has them on his hips and lower stomach. They aren't nearly as noticable as they used to be. In fact, he also had some on his innner arms that are totally faded, or maybe just look that way because he's so pale.
They aren't really noticable on other people, I guess like my cellulite and spider veins that I've had since I was like 13 or 14. I obsess over it, but most people don't notice them. Stretchmarks are normal and natural. Remember, the desire to get healthier is beautiful! |
