I buy Banana Republic jeans, they are pricy but fit really well.
I just buy the boot cut with a little bit of stretch, low-rise just shows off fat and the boot cut in dark denim makes my short legs (stupid, I am tall, have long arms but little short sapling legs) look more proportional.
