New-ish

Hi, I've been posting here for a couple days but realized I hadn't introduced myself. I'm 24 and live in New Jersey. I got married about 3 years ago, right after college. College weight-gain plus newlywed weight-gain added up! I started a diet and exercise program in April 2003 and slowly lost fifty pounds. Since then, I put about twelve back on, so now I'm working to get rid of those and stay healthy.

I keep a food log but don't count calories. I am a big dork and put a fruit or vegetable sticker by each day that I eat healthily, but whatever works, right? :^: I belong to a gym that's about 5-10 minutes from my house, and go about 5-6 times per week.

I think that's about it--I'm looking forward to meeting all of you!

Congrats to you on losing 40+ lbs! You will get back to goal before you know it! ;)

I'm new here myself, but everybody is super supportive. It really makes a difference.

I see you're a Jersey Girl! Both of my parents are from New Jersey and about 75% of my relatives live there. I have fond childhood memories of living in Philly and going w/ my family to the Trenton farmers' market on the weekends and coming home w/ baskets and bags full of fresh fruits and veggies - peaches, nectarines, apples, eggplant (blech :p ), tomatoes, zucchini, assorted squash, corn on the cob, etc. We also lived in Long Beach Island for one blissful year when I was 7-8 (yes, even through the winter). The next place I live will have to be by the ocean.

Yes, I sure am! I've been here for about 7 years now, but I've never gone to the farmer's market you mentioned--that sounds great! Thanks for the idea!
