Thanks all! I took the Zyrtek, and can't tell where it made a lick of difference. C'mon placebo effect. Anyway's, the ol' allergies have calmed down a bit (though I'm still on the "blow the pounds out your nose" diet, lol Liz) I think it's because the count went down when it rained the other day, and hasn't gone back up much. Don't get me wrong, I still feel like I've been run over by a freight train...except now just the caboose wheels managed to nail me! Hmmm...tylenol allergy and sinus, I actually haven't tried that one since last year...maybe it'll work now...I'll give it a try.
Thanks Gals Amanda |
lol...hope they clear up soon

Thanks ferret...me too. I love hot weather, but these allergies are making me long for jack frost :) Well, maybe not long for him...but I won't cuss him out this year when he does decide to show up!

The _only_ thing that's ever worked for my allergies is Aerius. Works on indoor allergies too! This year, I can't afford the $30 for 10 pills (CDN) though, so I'm stuck taking ghetto-Reactine (off brand) and it barely helps!

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to offer...
I suffer from the worst, debilitating, shoot me now hay fever. I will sneeze up to 50 times in a row at my worst. I to have tried every medication made including homepathic remedies and nothing works for me. My doctor finally did something for me that had me wondering why he never did it before. He gave me a Cortisone shot, which is a steroid and then put me on Prednisone for 5 days. That was about a month ago and I haven't had a problem since. Usually I'm bad until the first frost, so I pray for Winter, but I have felt great. The shot lasts about 6 weeks and basically works by boosting up your immune system so it can fight off the allergan, same with the Prednisone.
So AmandaHolly - this may be a more cost effective alternative for you over regular allergy shots. Since it would be a one time shot each year and one presciption. Anyhow, thought I'd offer the advice, probably won't help much now but keep it in mind for next year and ask your doctor if it would be right for you. |
ByeBigButt - Thank you, I will definately mention it to my doctor in the spring!!!
