uggg TOM

  • I have my WI today and my TOM came early, I am so bloated and in such a bad mood. I worked so hard this week and on Friday, myhome scale was reading a 2# drop, now because of the bloat and all that, I doubt if I have lost anything. I debating whether to go to WI or not. Some times when I don't lose, I let it get me down. hmmmmm I think I'll go but I'm going to promise not to let it give me an excuse to get me bummed out.
Why do we have to get not only tired, and pissy, but also cramps and bloating...yuck! how do you guys deal with it, do you ussually have a gain?
  • My weight will usually go up during TOM but then it goes right down afterwards so I just look forward to that part. Also you burn more calories exercising at the same intensity during this time so work out and you will feel better!
  • Well, normally I gain weight starting on the 2nd day of my period (strange, I know) and lose it about a week after the last day. What's up with that???

  • Everyone's cycle is different but as long as you lose it at some point then I guess it's not a big concern. The most important thing is to know your own body and how it reacts.
  • I know if I jsut keep up withmy plan, it will come off but some times its hard, because I feel so pissy that I end up sabatoging my self. I did lose like .4 which I guess is better than a gain.
Excersise is one of the few things that cheers me up during TOM but its like 95 degrees here and I don't have AC so I can't even work out inside. Tomorrow, I am giong to go and run first thing in the morning before it gets hot. Hopefully that will cheet me up.
  • I know what you mean Jennie. Up until just recently it's been hot as all **** lately! I was stupid and went out running in it, ended up getting chills and goose bumps (is that like pre-heat stroke?), and got all dizzy and goofy in the head...not a bright idea I'm sure. Wish I had the initiative to beat the heat by getting up early, but I'm just not a morning person Good luck, and push through it! You can do it!!!

  • Make sure to drink lots of water before you work out if it's hot where you are. My friend and I have been training for a 5-k race after work (5-6ish) and it's been super hot but we go to a park where there is a little shade and we figure at least we'll be conditioned when race day comes and it'll be cooler at 8am.
