Hi everyone! I'm Laura and I have just come over to this forum from the 300+ forum.(sweet ladies) I've found alot of support on this site and I thought I would come to visit over here. I have kind of a funny story...I have been depressed about denting that 300 mark for a while now. Well, I went over to my sisters for the 4th of July and got on her scale. Instead of 308 like my home scale says...it said 285! Well, I just KNEW it had to be wrong so I made my husband get on it. It weighed him perfectly! Then I weighed myself to make sure! I can't tell you how excited I was! When I go in for my gallbladder surgery tomorrow morning I'm going to have them weigh me to be sure. Then I am getting a new scale! lol Anyway, I wanted to share some happy news! I look forward to getting to know you guys. :D

Good morning ladies! All went well with my surgery. I was able to leave about 1 hour after my surgery. I'm really sore, but I do feel much relief. Some great news...285 is very accurate!! I'm so thrilled!! I just cant smile enough. It makes the goal more attainable...you know? My first goal is to lose 30 pounds. I know I can do it! Thats all for now. I just needed to share! Have a great day everyone! Be blessed! :ebike:

Hi Laura! Glad to hear the surgery went well AND that the lower number was the right one.

JustForUs 07-06-2005 01:11 PM

YAY! for the victory! I wonder if my scale is a LIAR to!! :) Glad to hear the surgery went ok! Feel better! ;)

jkg0679 07-06-2005 01:56 PM

That is sooo awesome! Congrats! :cp:

So glad your surgery went ok. 1 hour for a gallbladder surgery! :yikes: When they thought they were going to have to take mine last year, they said 2 - 3 days in the hospital with a total 1 week recovery.

lelesmom 07-06-2005 05:43 PM

Well, they did it laproscopicly so hospital time is much shorter. My recovery will be about 2 weeks though. :halfempty

hey lelesmom! I post over at the 300+ threads a lot, too. They're an awesome group of ladies, but so is this! It's great to have people closer to my own age to share a POV, ya know? That's why I like it here, too :)

I, too, freaked at having hit the 300 mark. Of course, I didn't just "dent" it, I tooka flying leap over it--up to 310.5 :o I'm 22 years old--there's no reason to ever have to deal with all of the stress of obesity at a time when life is supposed to be such fun! So now I'm kickin' my own a$$...down an even 20 pounds (as of this morning) and still truckin' along--glad to have you join us!
