Help...Carb addict is about to give in!
Hey all....Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers!!!
I am in a serious dilemma!! I love carbs..love sugar cookies cake...potatoes etc. But I have not touched them in 10 days....im starting to go threw withdrawl....usually i go work out when i get all crazy about carbs but I just came back from that. Is there any type of food I can eat that can curve my cravings? Thank you all!!! |
Hi April, welcome! Hm, well, I'd say that if you really love your carbs, then a low-carb diet is probably not right for you. There is nothing wrong with carbs, in fact your body needs carbohydrates to function properly. The "good" carbs are things like whole wheat and grains and anything in vegetables and most fruits, and the "bad" carbs are things like refined sugar. Low-carb dieting doesn't work for everyone! Maybe a low-calorie diet (or weight watchers or something) would be better for you? I eat rice and pasta and bread just about every day and I'm still losing weight! :)

Well this may be to late...but you could try some fruit. Might be sweet enough to curb the craving without being to bad for you. If you have just a little you should be able to keep your total carbs for the day low enough to stay within the diet. Just hang in there the craving should fade. And like paperclippy said stay away from the refined sugars most of all.

Eating lots of protein keeps me from craving carbs too much. Although I'm not low-carbing.

this is probably too late but i am also doing atkins and i crave sugar all the time! and crunchy things too! to curb my sweet cravings i have a low carb chocolate bar...dark chocolate is best since it's the lowest in carbs. look for ROSS brand bars. and for the crunchy cravings i eat a few pork rinds....it's just deep fried pork fat and skin, so it's low in carbs. it's really helped me a lot. :D

I have followed atkins before and I gave in to cravings after a week and I felt soooo terrible I was hot and shaky and felt very sick and bloated so when I start craving bad treats I remember how terrible I will feel after depriving myself for so long its just not worth it.
