Non-Scale Victories (NSV's)

I was crunching some numbers earlier and I've lost 33% of my body weight so far and I've lost 75% of the weight I set out to lose to reach 140.
I tried on a size 12 dress the other day at a Very Nice Store (one of the one's where everything runs small) and it just fit beautifully - I loved it. BUT I didn't buy it, because before to long, it wouldn't fit anymore. Maybe I'll buy it in a size 6 someday...
Anyways, just wanted to share some happy news... hope someone else has some good news to share as well!

85 pounds is AMAZING!!! WOOOOOW!! GOOD JOB! That certainly takes a lot of dedication and determination! :) *Pats Jenicra on the back*. :)

Another one: I haven't been doing the "fat girl tugging" (trying to make my clothes hide the parts of my body I'm least comfortable with) on my clothes nearly as much.

NYCT1981 12-16-2004 02:38 PM

lol, fat girl tugging!! i love that. Jenicra, you really have come SO FAR. you are such an inspiration.

every day is a non scale victory for me (i dont have too many "scale" victories, lol). But the best thing is that I am getting stronger. When I first started weight training, I couldn't do crunches on the ball because it made me want to die. Now I can do alot more before getting tired. yaay!

spillthebeans 12-16-2004 02:38 PM

that's a good one! "fat girl tugging" I know exactly what you are talking about ....

Very Good Jenicra...you are getting so close to your goal...Your doing it girl!!!

HAL123 12-16-2004 04:43 PM

fat girl tugging! classic... hmm i am a HUGE culprit of that when I am nervous.

Well done Megan on the abs of steel! Crunches on the ball are HARD!

jenicra 12-16-2004 07:35 PM

Yea Megan! Crunches on the ball are painful! I can only do like a dozen and I'm dead for like a week...
I just got back from my run - and not only did I beat my previous best time, but I finished a 5k run in under 30 minutes as well! My new PB is 29:58!

HAL123 12-16-2004 07:47 PM

Wicked Jenicra! That's pretty good, getting into -6minute k's. Have you got a race (5/10 k fun run?) that you are training for??

eyereenah 12-17-2004 12:07 AM

rock jenicra! yay megan! .... fat girl tugging. hehe (raises hand) im guilty! ive developed the fat tugging dance... lmao. when u have to jump and tugg to keep your pants on b/c the belt just isnt helping. lmao lololol. (im stubborn i wont buy new clothes, im just trying to get skinny enough to fit into my skinny clothes.) lolol ohhh if only the giggles would stop.

peace irina :D

My current non-scale victory...not eating all the chocolate, cake, pie, christmas candy, etc that is EVERYWHERE at my office! I have gone the entire week and only had one slip up yesterday afternoon (woops!) BUT not that bad considering how much worse I have been in the past!!

NYCT1981 12-17-2004 02:02 PM

great job michelle!! i know how hard that can be...

i am really amused by the crying snowman by your start weight.

jenicra 12-17-2004 02:48 PM

I'm pretty sure that if a snowman cried for too long, he'd melt himself - don't you think? :D
Michelle - that's so awesome - those office treats sure are hard to pass up!
