Default new here!

Hello everyone!

I am new to this board.

My name is Mindee, and I will be 22 in 12 days. I am married to Tommy, 27, and we have been married for 2 years now. We have an adorable little boy, whose name is Brandon, and he will be 4 months old on 8/23.

At my highest weight, I was 285, and I gave birth four days later. It scared the crap out of me being that heavy, so I knew once I had my son that I was vowing to get into shape for the sake of him and my hubby.

I am now currently 246lbs!! (Just weighed myself at the local Rite-Aid cause they have a digital machine that will take your blood pressure/pulse/weight. So I try to make it there at least once a week to check everything.)

My goal is to make it down to 120lbs and stay there.

We are helping a friend of ours plan her wedding, so we will and have been busy doing that. But my goal right now is to get down to 120 by her wedding. Or at least down into the 100's by then. I have just started helping my hubby in the kitchen with all the cooking, so I am hoping that will help me out. I have also been using an exercise machine every morning after I feed my son at 5am.

So I have a schedule of how I want things to go, it is just the fact of me sticking with them and getting to my goal and staying there.

Thanks for letting me babble and I hope to meet some of you lovely ladies (and men, if there are any on this section.)

Megan~ Thanks for the welcome and congrats on my son! Yeah he is already stubborn, I had to get induced due to my legs swelling, and he wasn't budging before so, yeah he is stubborn.

right now, the only meal plans I am on is just watching what I am eating, cutting back on my portions, and helping out with the cooking. (it doesn't sound like much, but it is helping out a lot!) Oh yeah, I am also working on cutting back on my pop intake as well, and eating after 9pm. those two are my biggest hurdles! When I get over those, then I know I will be getting somewhere. So far today, I haven't had any pop, and I am going to try and limit myself to one glass a day.

i think that is a perfect start mindee! i'm not the biggest fan of highly restrictive diets. i have the same problem with the eating late... i'm looking for a new job, so right now i have a part time job that is usually until about 10 at night. so, if i forget to eat dinner, i'm starving when i get home. i hate eating at night, it makes me feel icky.

also, the soda (or pop as you say) thing. i've been drinking diet soda for years, but now i have been trying to drink mostly water. but my real weakness is juice... like, lemonade, and lemonade iced tea, and fruit punch.. i love things like that, but i know they are full of sugar and not good for me. so i definitely hear what you are saying!!!

My hubby showed me an article about which are good carbs and which are bad ones, so I am going to be looking at getting rid of the bad ones.

I think that since I have figured out what I need to do, I am already on the road to a slimmer leaner me.
