New to the site, Saying Hello

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking for a day or two (sorry) and really like this section. I don't know too many people who are in my shoes, weight wise, so it is fantastic to have a virtual support group.

I am 24, and like so many others, always been heavy minus those moments of brilliance when I got my act together and fought my way down to 140, that is a size 6/8 for me.

Currently, I'm 204, 5'6", and a size 16/18. On July 13 of this year I was 220lbs, my all time high. So far I've managed the first 16lbs all by my lonesome with some wonderful encouragement from my thinner friends but thought I could really use some assistance from people who are living and have lived it.

My doctor and I have pegged my goal weight at 140-150lbs. I have muscle to beat the band you could say so I will be quite thin for me when I get to that weight.

Just an FYI, doctor suggested I go on the carbohydrate addict's plan (like atkins but with some minor differences). So far fantastic, 16lbs in under three weeks (under a doctor's supervision or I would be freakin' out cause it's too fast).

Hope to get to know you all better in the days and weeks ahead.
My goal weight should be reached barring some plateaus around April of next year.

Hey Tummy,

Glad to see that after some time lurking you finally decided to speak out :) Welcome and I hope you find the support that you are looking for. Feel free to post on any thread that you want to. Everyone is alway's happy to welcome a new face.

Congrats on your 16 lbs. so far and good luck with reaching your goal! Oh yeah, and I believe GolferGirl already posted the "August Goal" thread so if you haven't posted on it already feel free to state your goals for August and check back in from time to time during the month.

See you around the site :D

Welcome Tummy... Congrats on the start of your loss!!!

I also have done the Low-Carb diet... and lost 7lbs in the 2 weeks...it's still going well. If you have any questions or need recipes try the Low-Carb Forum which can help out a lot too.

Keep up the good work. The goals and the journals really do help!!
