Loseit is an amazing app! You can scan bar codes and it will find the food, if its not registered you can input the nutrition for next time. I find it so useful!!!

My biggest piece of advice for starting & sticking with it is BABY STEPS. For example, when I started I focused on exercising regularly. For about a month, that's the only change I made. Then I cut out soda. A few weeks later, I started packing my lunch instead of going out for it. Changing your whole lifestyle at once can be overwhelming and just plain unpleasant. It seems better to do it all at once (more results faster!) but I promise, small changes over time will be ones that you stick with. I know the feeling of (for lack of a better word) despair that comes with realizing that you need to make a change, and I understand that immediately cutting out everything feels right. But give this a shot first. :) And soon, you'll have worked your way up to where you want to be! There's a website I love that's called Nerd Fitness (I won't link but you can always google it if you're interested) where they compare it to videogames. In a game, you can't immediately go battle the big boss because he'll just kill you. First, you have to kill 20 little bad guys and slowly build up your skills. It's leveling up, in real life. :P

I decided today at work (when I was just about to break into a nervous breakdown and just start crying everywhere) that I'm going to hand in my resignation on Monday, and I took the next two days (Saturday/Sunday) off in annual leave. It's been terrible for me - little to no physical activity, shiftwork so my body clock is screwed, and the fact I work in the mining industry means I feel obliged to hide my sexuality and live a lie. Also, in the past I have gone and changed everything at once dramatically - and there were results, but they were short term. ------ Went for my walk/jog this morning, and that was it for exercise. Diet was good, BBQ was okay just had one bread roll with some meat and ate well all day ------ DAY 5 (WOW!) 30min walk 20min swim tennis 30min walk 20min swim Avocado on toast for breakfast Grilled fish and salad for lunch Chicken stirfry for dinner Thanks for the support everyone! I have had a sneaky look at the scale and it's good news! But I won't share it until I've finished the week ;) |

Was a tad slack today, did my jog in the morning and tennis, but that was it for scheduled exercise. But I was doing labour/work all day outside so I wasn't too worried. Diet was good. Eggs for breakfast, 6" sub for lunch, but had crumbed fish for dinner with a few chips. No biggie. Tomorrow I'll get more focussed, wake up a little earlier and get bulk exercise done before everyone's up! |
RE: My job. I told my dad, he was disappointed which felt bad on my end but I made the compromise of finishing up in 2 months time from tomorrow. Which is still great! Light at the end of the tunnel!
RE: Daily Journal... I did my 30 min walk/jog in the morning, and 30 min walk in the afternoon as well as tennis again. Did some yard work too which worked up a sweat! Was so busy today I only had one meal at brunch and one for dinner which isn't good for my metabolism! But I had chicken, salad and oven baked fries for dinner and fish for breakfast. MONDAY: 30 min walk/jog 20 min swim 30 min bike B: 2 x Weetbix L: apple, banana, grapes D: Lean cuisine meal snacks: tuna & crackers I work tomorrow from in the afternoon until about midnight so we'll see what happens. AND GRAMMYS R 2MORO!!!!!11 |
It sounds like you're doing really great!
I too am struggling to get out of a crap job. Well, not the crappiest job ever but it's full-time and I'm in college. My dream is to work much less and do much more schooling, as well as being more active during the day. See, when I'm on campus I have to walk, climb stairs(I'm scared of elevators) and during breaks between classes I can walk around or hula hoop to get moving. At work I sit on my butt for about 90% of the day, in front of a computer. Booo. I've been trying to get my nutrition under control, quit sugar and most processed foods. I've been on here for a few solid months now, with no significant losses to show for so it so don't feel bad about having to come back for a 'restart'. I think it happens to everyone until they find that thing that finally clicks and allow for some long-term weight loss. For me, I think it's going to be giving up sugar. I've been having such a hard time I know I must be addicted to it. Bread too. :P Good luck! |

I loved my last job, I was always on my feet, exerting myself a lot with shifting stock and that kind of thing. Scared of elevators, huh? Good for weight loss I suppose. Not good if you're running late :^: It's only been 6 days, but I'll update everyone on my weightloss. I started weighing at 107kg so around 236lbs. Weighed myself this morning and I'm at 102.2kg so around 225lbs. I've lost 4.8kg / 10.5lbs in 6 days what the heck! Next week I could be under 100kgs if I keep it up, thanks for all the support so far everyone ;) |
You're doing AMAZING.
Keep kicking ***! But remember some water weight does drop off in a big chunk so you might lose more like 5lbs next time. That still rocks, though! |
too tired to report, i'll be back!

Just wanted to post on here to encourage you to keep going. It sounds like you're doing good! Don't get discouraged if you need to take a day off of exercising (or still exercise but do a little less) because of being busy/tired; everyone needs some rest. Just make sure to keep eating healthy and go back to exercising tomorrow (don't make it a "I was only going to take ONE day off, but now I haven't exercised in 2 weeks"). Find whatever it is that motivates you (a fat picture of yourself, comments people make, clothes you want to wear, relationships you hope to have, things you want to do, places you want to go, etc.) and focus on those and get back on track.
We are here to support you! You can do this! |
How had your week been going BeachHouse6? I know you wrote that you were going to hand in your resignation at work....how is the job hunt going?
