Kind of an awkward question...but...

  • Maybe a lil nasty at some extent but I was wondering...is it just us chubby girls that sweat a lot? its extremely hot this time of year and I sweat so damn much and I feel like people who are at their regular weight/skinny, don't sweat..they get all red and whatnot cause of the heat while I'm over here sweatin' like a pig -___- so embarrassing! is it just me?
  • It not just you!! I sweat like you wouldn't believe. In fact, in the summer I can't wear light colors anywhere... And when I work out (even in cool temperatures) im a nightmare by the end... So- I hear you on the uncontrollable sweatiness!
  • I sweat ALL the time. It's pretty gross. Like, when I leave the gym I am drenched. It hasn't gotten any better as I've gotten smaller, either.

Ask your doctor for Drysol if you're concerned about armpit sweat... the stuff works wonders. Certain-Dri is a good non-prescription alternative, too.
  • Not you! I take medication that has a side effect of making me feel orderly hot and sweat doing NOTHING! It really sucks, but I do like the clinical strength antiperspirant. It works for me.
  • you probably just can't see them sweat, haha. when i step outside, you can immediately see speckles of sweat on the chest of my shirt. sometimes i sweat so much that i can wring it from my hair (sorry, tmi). it's defs not just you!
  • my one armpit sweats more than the other. there's just nothing i can do about it. lol
  • Obviously it's natural to sweat in the heat but I think some people do run hotter than others. Even at my heaviest weight, I had skinny friends who felt the heat more than I did. I tend to run a little cool (I live in the tropics and wear a cardigan or jacket almost every day), added to the fact that when I'm not moving, I tend to sit really still and not fidget a lot especially in the heat. Call it a natural chubby girl adaptation.
  • I haven't noticed a difference over the years.. weight wasn't a factor to how much I sweat.
  • I don't sweat that much unless its super hot out or during activity. Now when I exercise, LOOK OUT!, lol. I feel like I sweat more than other people when I'm working out. I took a really high-energy difficult cardio class yesterday and when we were bent over I could feel the sweat running down my face and dripping off the tip of my nose. I think i'm lucky that I don't smell. I mean, as long as I using deodorant I'm okay even though I'm drenched.
  • I think it depends on the individual.. I've never sweat a lot regardless of whether I'm at my lowest or highest weight. I wish I can sweat a lot when I workout, I'd feel more accomplished!
  • I sweat all the time it seems like! It's so embarrassing and annoying. I hate how I get looked at like "ewww fatty sweats so much it's digusting". I've even been told if I lost weight I wouldn't be so sweaty.
  • I agree that it is a personal thing. People sweat at different levels. I don't have excessive sweat unless it is 100 degrees or something. Usually I just perspire on my face.

When I was training for my half marathon some people would come back drenched in sweat. My mother asked me about it and I said I didn't know why I wasn't soaking. We all ran the same distance.
  • Quote: my one armpit sweats more than the other. there's just nothing i can do about it. lol
    Ah! Mine does too!

I have the same issue! It is always just one! Drive me insane.
  • Doesn't matter what amount I weigh.. I'm an excessive sweater and have just learned to live with it. It really had me self conscience in high school, but it the feeling subsided.
