Thumbs up here I am again...this time it's for good (and for my wedding!)

Hey everyone!

I was around here a few years ago and this community helped me go from 149 to 135 lbs over the course of a few months....since then I've seen those pounds come and go a couple times, and now I'm sitting somewhere between 149 and 154

I'm getting married in September of 2013 so I have a little over a year to make sure I make his jaw DROP when I walk down that aisle

The support, advice, and accountability I got from being a member here a few years ago was absolutely incredible and helped me stay in the right mindset, and I hope this time will be the same!

As of right now my goal is to be somewhere in the 120s for the wedding. I plan on transforming my (thankfully, still relatively muscular) body with weight training (I just purchased New Rules of Lifting for Women), cardio, and clean eating.

The main thing I need to work on is NOT eating out of boredom!! And portion control

I'm naturally a pretty active person, but being in the corporate and grown-up world has kind of squashed that out of me....it's time to get that back!

NOW is the time to make the changes that will stay with me for life and be a part of my future family.

I'm looking forward to being on this adventure with you all!

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptuals! I've been putting off the wedding planning for the fiance and I for what seems like forever now, since I couldn't get my butt into gear until now. Hopefully you'll be so busy planning and preparing for the wedding you'll hardly have time to eat out of boredom. Munching out of boredom was/is my big downfall, so I'm doing my best to keep busy. It's easier now, though, since it's so beautiful outside! Best of luck to you!

Congrats!! Hope you're wedding is WONDERFUL! Eating out of boredom is the WORST!! Lol, I hate doing it. At first I was like "well, I'll just take all the junk food out of the house" but then I realized, that doesn't help me "resist". So now it just stays there.. and doesn't get eaten! ahah. Anyways, I'm assuming you aren't in school anymore, but I have posted a back to school challenge, and since most people there are going back to school in Septemberish, maybe you can find some added support there! It's up to you, we have students, recent grads, and other people there who are just looking for a September challenge. Either way good luck with your weight loss!!

That such an awesome goal! You sound like you have a great plan for getting to where you want to go. And posting on here can be a great thing to do when you are bored instead of eating!

It's funny, my boyfriend (aka fiance without the ring! lol) and I are aiming for getting married in late September 2013 as well! I've got a lot different health journey than you do, but I know we both can do this!

Yay for upcoming marriages, I swear we need to make a bride bootcamp post so we can rant and rave about our weight loss to the altar!

Congrats!!! There are so many brides in the 20 somethings now!

I would love a bride boot camp! Even if my wedding isn't for another several years haha

I'm down for bride bootcamp too! Maybe we could rope in Riestrella to make us a chart and we could do 10 week challenges? Winner gets a little icon in their signature.

Thanks for all the love, ladies! Sorry for the delay in response, I had subscribed to this thread but I guess this account is linked to an old email address because I never got notifications about your responses!

I would love a bridal boot camp! I'd have no idea how to set it up though. Let me know if we can get something like that set up!

So glad I have such amazing support here and wonderful people to be on this journey with <3
