Body very quick to change shape, good or bad?

I get this from my dad's side. When we eat wrong we gain and store fat FAST, like, 2 weeks of eating wrong and you can visibly see the difference. On the flip side, we lose inches quickly too.

Even though I've only lost ~8lbs over the past month I just managed to pull on a pair of pants that haven't fit for all of winter this morning. They're still too tight to wear out, but they fit. My thighs and hips have shrunk and I seem to change shape overnight. I keep finding new things that are different from the day before in the morning. Today I felt that my belly was "lighter" and when I touched the underside of it I definitely noticed that it had pulled in a bit... Furthermore, stretch marks I had developed during my 50lb gain in the past 9 months have FADED on my upper thighs...they're GONE! I still have a few on my belly but they're white now not red.

Is this healthy? What does it say for my overall health if I change body shape this rapidly? Do I just have really springy, adaptive skin that's sucking everything in?

Edit: Can someone move this to the weight loss forum, I don't think this is only a 20-somethings question in retrospect....

GOOD! It means as soon as your mistakes are made you can undo them quickly.

I put on and take off bloat/water weight really fast, which is convenient when things like drunk pizza slices happen.

that is awesome. I wish I had those traits!
