Anyone up for a 12-week challenge?

  • Hi guys,
    I'm very new here and looking for anyone willing to start a challenge with me. I'm going to be in a wedding in middle of August and am striving to get down to a weight of 150lbs by August 1st from my current 185lbs. Over the past year I have put on 15lbs due to familial,school, and work stress. I want to get back to feeling healthy, happy, and a lot less tired.

    This is my first step at achieving my goal.

    Anyone up to joining me?

  • kitkat i am also trying to lose 15 pounds! my goals for the summer are:
    1. lose 15 pounds by september 1st
    2. eat between 1200-1500 calories per day *and 5 servings of veggies per day
    3. do cardio for at least 45 minutes every day (try to work up to 90)
    4. strength train 2-3 times per week
    5. log my progress here to keep myself accountable!

    i love challenges like this! they really make me think twice before skipping workouts or binge eating. i'm going to try to check in once a week and report progress - hopefully with all this hard work we'll all be at least 15 pounds lighter by august!
  • I'm in for a challenge, I'm at 162 & would love to be at goal by August or September (145) but honestly my ultimate goal is 125-130 though I haven't seen that weight since I'm 12, it would be pretty awesome, so I guess I'll do what I can, but I need the support group. :-)
  • I've officially decided I am going to start working out on Tuesday May 8th, the first day of my new job! Should we all start on the same date? These are my mini goals:

    154: Current weight
    145: Healthy BMI
    139: 130's!!
    130: My ultimate goal!!
    125: If I feel I should lose more

    I'm really excited to start!

    I am all behind starting our challenge on Tuesday May 8th.
    I'm going to cut back on the bread I eat weekly and will try to exercise/get to the gym at least four times in the next week.
    My goal is to be at 183lbs by May15th.

    And caramelkitty we will definitely be each other's support groups.
  • That's awesome kitkat1218! I also made a thread entitled "back to school challenge anybody?" Since my ultimate goal is to be fit in time for school, so I'll keep posting here, but if anybody wants to join me over there too that would be great! Good luck tomorrow!!
  • Oh! I am starting one today over the last few months, I have gained back 10 pounds and stopped exercising. One pair of pants no longer fits and my other pair is tight!

    So starting today I am going back to the way things were - eating cleanly and exercising. I have made myself a little workout chart to put on my fridge with every day of the 12 week period.

    The biggest challenge will be giving up wine. I have been drinking way too much lately and have vowed to cut it out for these 12 weeks. I was thinking about starting up a blog to help me through it, but I am awful about keeping with one.
  • Hey guys! Just checking in. I am only down 1lb this week, but I am ok with that. I know that achieving one's goal when it comes to weight loss is a long and strenuous process. However, I have eliminated unnecessary breads in my diet and am drinking a lot more water. Also, I have gone back to the gym this past week and had my butt thoroughly kicked in my Zumba and Latin Heat classes.

    If I continue this way I will hopefully bring about some major changes in my everyday life.

    How are the rest of you doing?
