Just got my initial measurements taken for the Extreme Bodyshaping program I signed up for. Let me just say yikes! 29% body fat and a big ol' tummy! I'm pretty excited to see the change though!

Just learned of a great new idea for motivating yourself to work out!

Put a dollar in a jar each time you work out. Then, when you get to $100, treat yourself to something. A new outfit, a massage, mani/pedi, hair cut/color, etc. I think I'm going to do this one too. One dollar for working out, and one dollar for "eating clean".

I've been MIA for the past few months because I broke my foot back in February. I broke it catching a ball in my adult dodgeball league. As you can imagine, it was kind of funny trying to explain my injury to anyone who asked! Since then, my physical activity has pretty much been zero, so I'm back to just about square one as far as weight goes.

Since I wanted a kick-start, I signed up for Farrel's extreme body-shaping, which is an intense 10-week kickboxing and strength training class. A few acquaintances of mine did it and they had great results, so I'm hoping for the same - especially with the wedding rolling around in September!

Anyway, I've posted my goals. I'm gunning for at least 6 workouts per week at Farrel's and then at least two additional workouts with either biking or tennis (or maybe running?), so I'm going for 8 per week. Eeek!

It's good to see some familiar faces around and some new ones too!

Welcome back Glad the foot is on the mend

i was MIA a bit myself.. also but starting back on the exercise track tomorrow
i am finding it hard to balance the 2.. if i eat well i'm not pushing myself to exercise.. and if i'm loading on the exercise i find i'm eating all around me.. vicious circle..

well i am hopefully going to balance the too this week.

how is everybody going so far this month?? its scary how fast the time is going, i have a fairly quiet June social wise , which is a relief because a few nights out and i'm back to zero..

I just wanted to add i also love it
the view and feeling of accomplishment at the top is so worth the puffing and panting up

So...I've been exercising almost every day for the last two weeks (except for a rest day and the day I was at a professional conference) and eating on plan, and I'm not seeing the scale move. At all. I *feel* better, but it's hard because I'm not seeing the numbers move on the scale.

Ugh. I'm about ready to go no carb. Except that I know the workouts will kill me if I do.

I wouldn't be so frustrated, except for the fact that I've got a big white dress to wear in about 3 months and I feel like I've wasted the last 2 weeks. ARGG!

kariatari- 2 weeks with no loss can be caused by a whole number of reasons including water retention, the time of the month, ect If this is more exercise then you've been doing normally I wouldn't be surprised at all if its water retention, because I know that happens to a lot of people including myself whenever I start on a new exercise program. You could also be recompositioning if you're engaging in any weight training. The last 3 month challenge I didn't lost ANY weight the first 2 months, but my measurements went way down because my body was in this crazy place of losing fat and gaining muscle. Hang in there!!!! The weight WILL come off eventually

Thanks for the encouragement, Dot! The instructors did tell us that in the first few weeks we might not lose any weight, so I shouldn't be so disappointed. But I just can't help it! Guess I'll keep pluggin' away!

Just busted my plateau by losing 4 lbs in 4 days. Hells yeah for a "whoosh!" This Saturday is my bridal shower and my "free day/fun day", so I'm probably going to gain a little back.

Just curious - what have your NSVs been this week?

Mine - Going out to the marina/bar for a friend's 30th B-day and not drinking. Not even one Summer Shandy!

Good job on the hiking! Elevation kicks me in the arse every time, so I'm very impressed!

Unfortunately, it seems that all of the 4 lbs I lost came from my bewbz. Ugh. I hate that part about losing weight. LoL!
