Oh thats a good idea! I tried entering zero and it said that i had to enter a valid number (guess its not totally dumb!) so I tried again and entered 1 calorie and it accepted it (ha!) Thanks!

Oh good...I'm glad that you were able to figure out how to make the app work better for you

I use MapMyRUN (for walks, hikes, whatever) and of course Weight Watchers mobile.

I love mynetdiary because I can print out my food logs and graphs to show to my nutritionist. I also like the nikefitplus app because I am a newbie to the fitness thing and the "cheers" in my headphones are strangely motivating! I also like loseit, but didn't have as consistent results. Good luck!

I saw an app that gives you reasons to stay on your diet when your thinking of cheating. helped me the other day when I really wanted to eat something not so healthy haha

I have a smart phone now! I'm finally joining the cool club! I too tried out a bunch of apps to see what would work for me. Here are my findings:
  • I tried Noom but I didn't find it very useful. I thought that the "tasks" weren't really inspiring or helpful as someone who is already close to their goal. Perhaps if I was just starting I would find the tasks and articles interesting, but for where I am in my journey I found it a bit patronising. I also found its calorie count/green, red, yellow system a bit vague and didn't find it to be an accurate enough system to record what I was eating.
  • I would use something like mapmyrun if I wanted to take my phone out on a run with me, but I don't want to since I don't have pockets/don't want to get it sweaty! But I do like mapmyrun as a website just to track where I want to go.
  • I use "Simple Weight Loss" App just as something to put my weight in and see a simple graph to map my weight loss day to day. I'm a daily weigher, so it's nice to record it so I can remember it for when I post it on the forum. It's not flash or fancy, it really is what it says on the tin which is why I use it.
  • However I must say I'm really pleased with myfitnesspal. It's calorie counter is accurate, it has all the foods that I want to record and I like how it shows you a goal, how many calories you've consumed, how many you've burned through exercise and what your net calories are too.
It's detailed, easy to use, and the community aspect looks really great too. I don't have any pals yet, but I'm sure it's interesting to see what others do.

MyNetDiary has really helped me track my intake and monitor my portions.

I use LoseIt! on my iphone, but I don't track my exercise on it because I don't want to eat back my calories.

You could just use the Exercise Notes section and manually enter your workouts (so you have a record of it) without actually "logging" your calories in the system.

I love seeing my weight in a graft so I feel like I'm going in the right direction. I use Simple Weight for that

I also swear by MyFitnessPal. I use it every day to track food, water and exercise. I also just started using WeightBot because MyFitnessPal doesn't retain specific enough weight records for me over the long term. I wish I didn't need to look back at my weight loss over more than a year, but I do! WeightBot saves forever and you can back it up with a computer file.
