Nsv!

Today I had a great NSV - I ran my first 10K! :D I was so excited through the whole thing, and I hope I have a great finish line picture. If there's one on the website when they put them up, I'll post it here! It took me about 1 hour, 13 minutes. For my first time, I am very happy with that. My goal was just to finish the race and to not be last. :P

That is great! Congrats on that. I am sure the picture will be fab. When I ran my first 5k, that was my goal too, lol. I had the medal, t-shirt and pics professionally framed.

Yay!!!!!! Way to go!! :)

Congrats, I did my first and only 10k this past summer. I wanted to not finish last as well and succeeded (just barely ;)).

I finished in 1 hr and 21 min, it was a very hilly course though. I felt so amazing afterwards. Tomorrow I'm doing my second 5 mile race. I feel excited to get a good workout because I feel so gross right now.

:congrat: enjoy your accomplishment. YOU DESERVE IT!!!

Congratulations! :)

Yay!! Congrats! My first goal is to run an entire 5k, but ultimately I would LOVE to run a 10k. Did you do a specific training program to get ready for it?

MusicalAstronaut 11-26-2011 06:01 PM

I did! This is the link for it: http://www.halhigdon.com/10ktraining/10knovice.htm
I got rid of the first week because I only had 7 weeks before the race.

I'm happy to say that I think I don't look too silly in it. :P Carrying my jacket because it was FREEZING when the race started, but of course it got hot by the end.

You followed the exact same training routine that I did! It's great isn't it?!

CONGRATULATIONS. I know there's nothing like the feeling of crossing the line and knowing that you kept going and the training has paid off. Be really proud of yourself!

I did my first 10k in 1 hour 11 minutes, but I think I shaved off a few minutes by sprinting to the finish line after all the people who had already finished were applauding me and cheering me on! I love the atmosphere of races =)
