I took DD to a Halloween party. I actually did pretty well. I had one cookie and just snacked on the mini-pizzas/bread there. She, on the other hand, went nuts with the candy and got sick. :( I spent most of the party trying to steer her away from the table of candy (we don't keep any in the house and the poor thing went nuts over it! :dizzy: ).

flashfacts, I do the same thing with Ice Cream. I don't care for candy as much as I do ice cream.

I buy a cone at a local dairy and my sundae at a local Ice Cream shop.

It's so true. The better ice cream is at the ice cream parlors.

I never buy it at the grocers anymore. Ice cream is my downfall.
And I bought only 3 cones all last summer. I am doing much better.
:D

i went nuts. it's been a week-long free for all.
in fact, aside from steamed veg and a peice of talapia (about 90 cals) ALL i had yesterday was about 20 timbits and CANDY.

....the rest of the week has been like that as well.

ive gained 3 lbs up to yesterday, and i presume another 2 more from last nights bottle of wine/candy/ tim bit...thing.

but that is okay. i LOVE halloween. i have always had a sweet tooth, and since I typically do not allow myself any sugar, I go nuts every once in a while. now i feel like ****, and it's time to get back to the exercise. it's been a nice break (ahem, i'm horrible) but that's okay. it happens and motivates me more to be good.

guess today is the detox day :(

i find that going overboard is okay sometimes, but then having to get back on the horse is hard because you're always super hungry the next day.

Not great – I went a bit overboard yesterday and had 6 fun size Halloween candies. I did work them into my calorie count, but I still ended up with a big sugar headache. :( Won’t be doing that again anytime soon.

I didn't eat any candy on Halloween & I am SO PROUD of myself!! I'm the type of person that could LIVE on sweets, so saying no for even just one day was a huge accomplishment :-)

I did horrible, I have no self control over the cupcakes I make myself. LOL I thought it would be cute to make cupcakes for a halloween party I was going to, and then on Monday for my SIL's daycare, so I had a couple of those, along some chips and some chocolate and a lot of alcohol.

Up a couple of pounds but I doubt its lb of fat. It has to be water retention, It sucks that it will take so long to get off, but it will come off.

I'm going to have a binge free month of November. (Thanksgiving is in October in Canada, so I don't need to worry about that lol)

Urgh.... I'm so glad someone started this thread b.c I'm feeling the need to whine/vent/confess... and then get back on the stinking horse!

I don't even really like halloween candy that much, but my mom made a bunch of "comfort foods" (2 loaves of bread, sweet potatoes, chicken soup w. matzoh balls, etc.) So, I definitely overate. And I'd been doing so well w. not eating after 8PM, then last night for some reason, I figured "it's a holiday!" so that discipline went right out the window... and I ended up cruising to the grocery store at 10PM to scoop up some of that discounted candy that I "don't really like" all that much... SHEESH!!! Only ended up eating about a 1/2 bag of chocolate caramel corn (which was actually really good) but at like 10:30PM, which was so not necessary.

Pros: I did manage to still get in my 10,000 steps for the day.

Grrrr!!! Am up like 6 lbs this morning. Hoping/praying that it isn't for keeps. Have a bit of a detox going on, although I did have another slice of bread and apple for breakfast and am about to eat a sandwich for lunch...

Back on the horse means no eating after 8PM and keep drinking water.

Am trying to encourage myself by being accountable here.
Here's to a reasonable November!

I didn't do very well. My mom has tons of candy sitting around and I went there for Halloween to watch scary movies but ended up being fed tiny chocolate bars. I ate probably 10 of them before realizing what I was doing and stopped! That is still about 700 calories, I am lucky that I had a lot of calories left for the day.

I felt so bad when I got home that I got on my treadmill again for the second time and pumped out 200 calories hoping that it would at least make a small dent in my indiscretion.

Feels good to admit it though!

Ugh, it was raining so we only got 4 trick or treaters, so there is a HUGE bowl of candy left. Yesterday I was bad, I had 2 milky ways, a york peppermint patty, and 2 3musketeers. But I was still under calories so I guess it could have been worse. I must get rid of this candy...

LiannaKole 11-01-2011 10:37 PM

I had no candy yesterday. I'm amazed at that, but it happened!

What I did instead was make a delicious, huge pumpkin shake for only 170 calories, including the big dollop of whipped cream on top. Tasty, and very holiday appropriate!

We have some leftover candy and my family is tossing it around to each other....GAH.

I had another piece of Godiva chocolate today—that new parfait one they had the free samples for today. That stopped me from taking any of the halloween candy again :joker:

gagalu 11-02-2011 02:02 AM

i had 4 starbursts :3

KatRat 11-02-2011 02:10 PM

I did pretty well...I bought some candy for my husband and made treat bags for my students....I kept some jaw breakers for myself and once in a while I take a 100 grand that I got for my husband. I'm doing weight watchers so I just count the points and move on. I have to say I've done well.....I'd love to eat 3 or 4 100 grand at a time!!!

I was so busy running errands with a newborn baby that I forgot it was Halloween on Monday until I was on my drive home in the evening and saw all the kids in costumes trick-or-treating! I think this is the first year ever that I didn't have any candy! Let's see if the holiday season goes as well!
