  • i'm kind of sad to say goodbye to some of my old clothes cuz they're super cute but....i just dont fit in them anymore and i dont know what to do with them now? should i donate? sell them to platos closet? or see if any of my friends that are around my old weight would like them? or maybe just hold on to them. i dont know =/ although i do know imma have to return some of my new clothes to the store....never thought i'd say it..but they're too big! =] n thats considering i got smallest sizes available (at least for a plus size store).
  • consignment shops are the best or give it to charity. that's what i do....and CONGRATULATIONS!
  • Give 'em to charity! Never, ever, keep your old bigger clothes. If you know you have clothes that will fit you if you gain weight back, then you have a higher chance of gaining.
  • I agree with Kayla.
  • true and i really dont want to gain the weight back. im loving the newer thinner me. but it does suck cuz i have stuff that i never even got to wear or i wore like once or twice =[
  • Or, if you have family members. It's sort of the opposite, but when my cousins gained weight and could no longer fit into their size 14 skirts and stuff, they gave them to me. I was too big... but they became great goal sizes. And now... most are too big on me. So... when I lose enough weight to need to get rid of my old clothes (probably once I reach size 8 or smaller... I will belt up my pants and everything for as long as I can... I don't have money to buy new clothes), most will probably go into the trash first, then friends or family... or... if they're nice enough to allow me to earn a little bit of store credit, to a consignment shop. But I don't have many things that are that nice. By "that nice"... I'm talking like... practically designer labels and stuff. And most of my stuff are hand-me-downs or stuff from consignment shops or walmart.
  • Give it all away!! Some people were selling their clothes on ebay but I suggest just giving it away. For me, seeing the clothes that I love on other people would make me want it back... going through the cycle.
  • I'm going to sell mine on ebay once I get moving. I have a lot of Torrid clothes I've barely worn and some I didn't get to wear at all :[ I would love to just give them away, but I could really use the money to buy new clothes. I barely have any that fit right now.
  • I hate to say goodbye to my clothes too but I'm going to give it away to charity. I can't sell any of my jeans because all have been hemmed and I am very short. I doubt anyone could fit it length wise.
  • I'd say do anything except keep them! In my case, not having those big clothes is just another way of keeping me in check.

Example- If I lose weight, I can fit into my nice small clothes, but if I gain weight after I lost some, I may just put on the bigger clothes and not take it as a sign to check my habits!
  • I am in the same boat right now. After losing 20 pounds my closet has been wiped out. I never had a lot of clothes to begin with because I was too ashamed to have to buy plus size clothes. But now I have a growing pile in my bedroom. Now I am going to donate to one of my favorite thrift stores.
  • Could you alter some of them to get more wear out of them?
  • i hear ya sontaikle, all my clothes are from torrid and are still in great condition. i dont want to see them go but i have to. im thinking of doing consignment shops just cuz i can use the extra cash. and to Dani84....unfortunately I can't....they're like really really big on me now =/ not even a belt works or anything and i especially need well fitting tops cuz my old ones show a lil too much of the girlies and thats a no-no in the work place. =/
  • i have to say i did sell 80 dollar jeans on ebay but i also gave away 3 garbage bags of clothes too!

I've been able to use some of my size 0 tops, but I wasn't that size for very long so I don't have that many. I'm really stretching it wearing them though.

If you have a lot of Torrid clothes, I would just sell them. I've heard you can do pretty decent selling them online because they're considered "designer" clothes and you sure know how expensive they can be! A lot of women will look online just so they can avoid paying $40 for a pair of shorts!

I—once again—need to get moving and get rid of these clothes so I can make room for new ones. There is a post office right across the street from where I work! No excuse! I can ship stuff on my lunch break

My mother has been eyeing some of my Torrid tops though, and she told me she gets to go through anything I want to sell.

I have some work clothes that I didn't buy at Torrid and are pretty cheap and not worth selling online. I'm giving them to a friend who's currently looking for a job
