Scale

I used to have an ED so I have been in the habit of not weighing myself because it used to be psychologically unhealthy for me.

But without a scale, I feel lazy and I feel like my body-dysmorphia makes me think I am thinner/fatter than I am.

My question is: should I run out and buy a scale??? How important are daily weigh ins to you?

I have been diagnosed with an ED-NOS, went to therapy, and eventually sought Nutritional Therapy with an RD. She blind weighed me for one year. I was able to follow a healthy plan, not think about it, and just learn to love myself.

I highly recommend trying out nutritional therapy with an RD who will give you talk therapy, is familiar with ED, and who will make an appropriate meal plan for you. It is quite pricey and my insurance didn't cover it, but it was the best money I ever spent.

ETA: I did eventually start weighing myself and I'm now only doing it once on Friday mornings, no other times - EVER. After my success with the nutritional therapist, I feel like I'm ready to just keep an eye on my weight and do it healthfully.
