Military does not equal buff. Apparently this guy is but that's not always the case. My DH was in the military and their physical requirements are sometimes just messed up. Often they'll go by neck size, height and some other factors to basically determine if you have a large frame or small; weight requirements are set upon this information. One guy has a fat neck (sorry, it's true!) and he can't do ANYTHING in PT and constantly has to go back for more than others because he fails. Another guy gets up every morning to go to the gym to swim (and out swam the everyone in the squadron), to run, you name it. But because he had a smaller neck size he never passed weight restrictions and was forced out of the Navy. Doesn't necessarily apply here but so often people get false ideas of guys in the military being ripped with an eight pack. :D Makes me giggle when they get together for barbecues. |
Well I was very pleasantly surprised by how it went!
First of all, he's super nice and personable. I immediately felt comfortable talking to him and we seem to have very similar senses of humor. I'm pretty sure he's into me because he kept adding on things to do after our coffee lol. We have another date for Saturday as well! :carrot: I'm so relieved that he didn't run screaming! In all honesty, I didn't really believe he would but there was always that fear in the back of my mind. He's very athletic in person too so I'm kind of excited that a guy like that would think that I was attractive. Idk, I'm not putting a ton of stock in it yet, but we had a lot of fun and I think we have a connection. We'll see where it goes! Thanks to everyone who gave encouragement yesterday! I really appreciate it. |
YAY! I'm so glad it went well.
And may I just say, you are really rockin the weight loss! |
Medchick87 - thats so great to hear! Im excited for you. I also wanted to add that my husband is very athletic too and its been a great boost for me in losing weight. Since he is athletic, he is more into clean healthy eating so our food at home revolved around that. Not very many snacks, sometmes so chip and dip here and there. Plus he keeps me active cause he hates sitting at home so we go for walks, or play badminton or run or something. Hope everything keeps going smoothly for you! :)

I met my "Army Guy" recently as well. I met him online, we live in the same state just different cities. I was SO terrified that when he came up to meet me he'd be like "oh, so this is you" and that would be the end of us. 2 months later he moved me down here with him and we're planning on getting married. |
How'd it go? :) My online dating forays never went anywhere, but I'm rooting for yours!
............. Edit. I'm on an iPad for the first time, and just noticed there are nuuuumerous pages to this thread and you already answered. Sorry. *blush* Glad it went great! He's clearly very into you if he kept suggesting more things to do...! |
That's so good that it worked out for you so far :) Guys in uniform....yum! I always had a soft spot for them. You work it, girl and stop being self-conscious. Just be your beautiful self :)
