MusicalAstronaut - I didn't used to. Last time around I lost 70 pounds in a year with a couple of large breaks....without any exercise at all. This time around I'm doing a lot more exercise then I'm used to, and I'm not losing at all. I've been measuring as well...I'm not losing inches either...It's really hard to stay motivated when even if I'm on track for a week I'll lose maybe a pound. When I was doing it only diet and no exercise last time, I was losing 2.5 or 3 pounds most weeks. I have problems exercising though....I have bad knees, scoliosis, and I've had to have 3 foot surgeries and might need a fourth because of the way that the bones in my feet grow that make it painful to even walk around barefoot. I have to walk around in sneakers with custom orthotics all of the time....and after a day of being up on my feet at work....even that doesn't help too much. I don't mind swimming in the pool at the gym for my workout....but I wish I could do more things like zumba classes and running on the treadmill. Before the last surgery...I could....and I LOVED those things....but this last surgery, something about the way that the bones healed wasn't right and now it really hurts to do those things. That's why they say I might need another surgery....but if the last surgery could do this, I don't know if I want another one that might make it even worse. I don't know...
I guess one positive thing I could say is that I have a wii fit plus and EA Active at home...and I have been using those. I can't do much with the EA Active though because I lost the legstrap for the nunchuck and whenever I try and fake it with a scarf or something, I don't think I get the positioning right because the sensor bar wont pick up where the nunchuck is....so it doesn't register that I'm doing the exercises. Oh well.
Another Sunday! I hope everyone had a good week! Mine went okay until a dinner party Friday night - but luckily I had all day yesterday to "recover" and do some serious calorie-burning. Happy Halloween to all tomorrow!
I ate pizza at work because we had a party and the kids wouldn't have understood if I ate something else and they ate pizza....so I just went ahead and ate it. I'm planning on a very small dinner and working out later, so hopefully I'll be okay.
I bought EA Sports Active 2 for the Wii. I like it a lot better then the first one, which was really glitchy and didn't always pick up my squats and running and stuff. This one is nice and I really like the heart rate monitor. That's nice. I'm doing a 21 day exercise challenge on the game...where I'm exercising 4 days a week. I'm doing it on the easy level now, then I'll do it again on medium, and then on hard. Then there is some 60 something day challenge that I'll do. I'm excited. I hope the challenges help keep me motivated enough to do it when I'm supposed to. lol
Divine: I am doing Jillian Michael's 30 day Shred. I'm on Day 12, but I took a 3 day break while being sick. It is amazing...3 different levels, 10 days on it ( I do about 3 avg then take 1 day break to stretch out super sore muscles). The dvd runs about $10. Have you tried any of the Wii Just Dance? My daughter has all 3 and we do it all the time for fun. You don't realize how much you're sweating until its over. A great time!
I haven't tried Just Dance. I've done dance and DDR games before and I found that I didn't really push myself. With the EA Sports Active you've got a personal trainer telling you to exercise...and that seems to push me more to my limits. Plus I need it for the muscle toning. I get my cardio swimming laps at the gym and cycling....but the EA Active does a lot of resistance training and stuff like that....which i really don't get enough of from anything else.
Yay, I'm finally recording a loss! I'm back to my starting weight now...and I don't plan on seeing that number again next week. I've lost 3 pounds this week =D
been slacking on posting my weight. I started exercising A LOT more at the end of October so I've gained a little but its finally starting to pay off!!! TOM is this week so hopefully I can harness it to actually help me instead of hinder me. *prays for willpower*
I got all excited last Thursday because I was down to 189.3, and then on Monday I was back at 190.5. So I'm going to weigh myself again (I use the nice scale at the gym) because I get all upset about getting in the 180s and then going back up to the 190s. Why are the 190s so damn hard to get out of?
