Sorry about the word "detox". It was just the first thing that popped into my head.

The more i'm reading about it and thinking about it... it's more just eating raw for a few days. And I'll be careful about different amino acids, getting protein in my vegetables, etc etc.

So far I'm on day 2... and going through withdrawals. But this is the exact same kind of stuff I went through when I got off of gluten. And then I felt GREAT after two or three days. So yeah.

But the juicing itself is going well. Wasn't able to update my blog yesterday due to a thunderstorm and not wanting to have stuff plugged in. And yesterday was such a great day with so much to update about... today was not. 5 hours on the road in a car that's too small for my long legs with nothing but fruit and veggie juice to eat. :p

Otherwise... going great so far. I weighed just now, 214.6... I had weighed three days ago around the same time and was 216.7... but... could just be water weight... so I'm not making any judgement calls at this point. I'd need to weigh in the morning with no clothes on and all. Which I'll do tomorrow. :)

I might modify and try this for 5 days or a week or so. I'll probably include chicken breast for dinner and breakfast. Guess it's time to check out some meal plans.

Well... checking in (still haven't had a chance to update my blog... that'll take me like... 20-30 minutes... and so far I've only had like... 5-10 online... used to check my email, and then maybe check in here).

207.6 as of this morning. Since I don't really know where I started... I'm not sure how much of a loss this was... but yesterday afternoon I was 214.6 or something... so yeah.

Still have a bit of a headache, but it's getting better (part of it could also be TOM... blech). And my skin is clearing up. So hoorah on both of those. :)

Serbrider you went down 7 pounds in one day????

stellarosa27 08-29-2011 12:38 PM

If she weighed herself at night, then again in the morning, while eating all of those fruits/veggies, her body may be seriously voiding itself.

Serbrider 08-29-2011 04:40 PM

Yeah... it was something like that. Not actually 7 real lbs of weight... plus... each time I weighed it was on a different scale.

I'm 207.0 this morning, was 208.5 yesterday, after being 207.2 on a different scale the day before.

So... a lot of variables going on. But I'm feeling pretty great. Exercised for nearly an hour yesterday... I'm so out of shape that I was completely and utterly beat afterwards... but I have "gym time" in my schedule every day... so yeah. :)

I watched Fat, Sick & Nearly dead (streamed on Netflix) and I really liked it a lot. It didn't motivate me to juice, but I do drink a green smoothie every day, which feels really great to do. Congrats on your progress so far! :D

one hour serbrider! awesome that is! thx for continuing the updates...how long will you do this?

I haven't started juicing yet..no excuses other than running around right now and enjoying my kids being at school...need to stay home so I can start juicing! been on plan with running and eating though.

Hello everyone! I am also doing a juicing cleanse, of sorts. I have decided to allow myself one real meal a day (healthy, mind you!) and the rest of my meals/snacks must be in freshly squeezed juice form. I have tried some really amazing ones so far (my fave is carrot, kale, pear, apple and ginger)...and some really, really nasty ones. I just started yesterday and I'm keeping track of what's happening/how I'm feeling on my blog (link in sig).

I watched the documentary "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead"...it was very inspiring and although I don't think I'm willing to eat nothing and drink only fresh juice for every meal, for every day, for 30 days; I can juice for most of the day and enjoy one healthy meal. I'm hoping that juicing will help me get a better grip on how I think about food. We'll see...

Good luck! I'm on day 9, feeling great... and I no longer look at food the same way... it's awesome. :D

So yeah... good luck!

"That being said, I know it's your choice and I wish you luck. But please listen to your body during this time! Note if your mood or energy changes, if you start to lose hair, if you have problems with your immune system"

i suggest researching juicing. immune system is supposed to improve dramatically. hair is supposed to get healthier. ;) these are essential nutrients we're putting in our body during this time and it gives our digestive system a much needed break. it's a reboot, extremely beneficial and has cured diseases, reduced risks of stroke, heart attack, ect, reversed diabetes. the list goes on and on.

I just watched the "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead" documentary and it was pretty compelling. Good luck with your 30 days!

i'm on day 7 tomorrow. everything is fantastic. i actually 'cheated' a bit today, because my dh made stroganoff and it was a new recipe-i had about a cup and even though i'm not mad at myself, i wish i wouldn't have done it. juicing has me feeling wonderful already. :) down 7lbs, too.

I juice too! My BF is going a juice feast with a 60 day goal. I'm doing 2 juices a day and then a dinner that just consists of high protein. I'm not really doing it as a "fast" so-to-speak, more like a easy way to oversaturate my diet in nutrients. I hate vegetables and I have a hard time getting them down - but when you just chug them down - its not TOOOO bad!! :)

I'm updating my blog with my juicing adventures and how it all goes. Its weird how badly some people react, but I try to explain that it's not like i'm saying "I'm going to only drink apple juice!" - I try to explain that I'm actually drinking the nutrients of carrots, kale, broccoli, all sorts of fruits, etc... and it's not nutritionally deficient. Only in protein and basic fats, really - and those are easy to add in with small portions. I also take a bunch of fiber supplements and re-add some of the pulp to the juices.

Good luck to you!

I have some friends doing this. Where can I find out more info on it? Do you gain weight back after you are done..even if you are eating healthy? Sorry for the random questions, but I am thinking about trying this.
