Question How long are your plateaus?

So I'm plateau-ing. I know it's normal and your body needs time to adjust and yada yada yada, but it's still annoying. I've been watching refined carbs and staying more active (cleaning/organizing instead of reading/watching tv) to hopefully get me out of the 2.5 week rut, and I can do this for a while, but I'm going to lose motivation if it lasts much longer. Thank goodness I'm losing inches, otherwise I would be severely put out!

So...how long have you guys plateau-ed? And how many times have you plateau-ed?

Plateaus are the worst! The longest I plateaued when I was actively counting calories and exercising (and being good) was more than a month! I actually broke through it by upping my calories - who woulda thought?!

Now that I have been so busy with school and not on any type of plan, I'm plateaued in a 5-lb range but that is to be expected without putting in any effort.

Stay motivated - you're doing great and you will break through it! Maybe try playing with your calories or adding in strength-training or some type of new workout? Good luck!

I just finally got out of a 2.5 week plateau. I did not plan for this to happen but I overate on a Sunday then made up for the excess calories on Monday and Tuesday. Well, on Wednesday I weighed in a 194 (from 195) and then on Saturday I weighed in at 191.2 which was shocking. Perhaps switching up your routine will do the trick?

Oooh! Good suggestion with the strength training. I've got a routine that will work great, but I've been too lazy to throw it in after my runs. What better time than now, huh? Guess that gives me an immediate reason to clean up the "gym" area of my house too!

I seem to plateau in the lower half of each decade (180s, 170s, 160s and now the 150s). This plateau in the 150's has been for the past 4-5 months but within the last 2 months ive really started to hunker down on the weight loss. Doing strength, cardio, and keeping a food journal. Seem to have broken through 153 so hopefully it'll be downhill from here.
