I gained an inch!

  • This past March, I went to the doctor (I apparently had a double ear infection).

I was weighed and had my height recorded, as I had last been there when I was twelve.

When I was twelve, I was 5'1.75" and weighted 114lbs.
    In march, I was 15. I was 5'3" and 138lbs.

This morning, my father insisted that I was taller than my (5'3.75") mother.

He got his tape measure and t-square and measured my height.

    I am... 5'4.25"

In less than five months, I gained an inch and a quarter.
    Yay for unforseen growth.

(I didn't know where to put this... but I'm also wondering when you all here stopped growing taller)
  • When I was 14 I was 5' 4" 215lbs. By 16 I had gotten down to 175lbs and they grew up to 5' 11". I was VERY happy lol. Too bad I am starting over with the weight though
  • I am SUPER jealous... I guess at 21 im not going past 5' 5"
  • Oh wow! I doubt I'll be that tall-ATM I'm the tallest (and thinnest for my height) female in the family. My parents are 5'3" and 5'9", and my grandparents are all under 5'4" (aka shorter than me). My parents aren't sure where this height is coming from!
  • I was 5'0 when I was 15 and here I am at 25 and I only made it to 5'1. Darn my asian genes!!!! lol
  • I finished growing my freshman year, so 14/15.
  • Go you!

I think I probably stopped growing when I was about 17 or 18. I was looking at copies of old medical records from when I was 15 a while back, and my height on those is listed as 5'2". I'm 5'4.6" now.

If I remember my forensic anthropology instructor correctly, women usually stop growing in their mid-to-late teens. Men can continue to grow into their early 20's (of course, they start later).
  • grats on your height!!! im 5'5" and my sister is 6'. my brother is 5'11". our dad is 6'5" and my mom is like 5'8" so im really short compared to everyone else lol.
