You know you've lost weight when...
 
I just thought I'd post this to find out when fellow members started to realize they'd lost weight.

Mine are: My jeans getting so loose that they fall down when sitting down or walking anywhere. Sadly they are my favourites and I'm tempted to keep wearing them until they're round my ankles.

My friend being able to carry me a significant distance (He sprung that one on me, I don't think I've ever shrieked that loudly before) the best part is he's not a body builder or weight lifter!!

And being able to walk up the massive hills in my hometown without needing regular breaks to 'check my phone'

your underwear falls off because it is soooo big.

you can sit in an airplane seat without feeling like you are stuck in the chair.

Your clothes are loose and start to fall off of you.

People start noticing and commenting on your loss.

You can walk longer distances without stopping to take a break.

You find the desire to workout, not go out to dinner!

You can slide right into a restaurant booth.

You can sit on a folding chair without sweating bullets about breaking it.

You can buy everything in regular sizes - clothes, shoes, panties, coats, jewelry vs plus/womens/extended/extra-wide/super sizes.

You can see your feet while standing up straight and cross your legs while sitting down again.

You do sit-ups and realize that it now hurts your spine when your back hits the ground because you've lost that layer of padding.

Your pants fall off (literally, fall off) while running to your car in a rainstorm. (The best part of this was the 15 people waiting in the store entrance for the rain to pass, so I had an audience).

You find hipbones, collar bones, wrist bones, ankle bones, and ribs you never knew existed!

-I don't have to do the ol' HEEVE HO to get off the couch! It takes only one attempt now.

-being able to not only cross my legs but have my leg stay there without having to have one hand hold it in place

-being able to get out of a restaurant booth with ease (someone said getting in and getting out was just as satisfying to me)

-I also knew when I reached into my drawer of bras and grabbed whatever and put it on...then realizing that evening that I had bought it a year ago but had never worn it because it was too small and I was too embarressed to take it back.

-Piggy backing off of the last one--when my friend gave me one of her Victoria Secret bras, much to my argument that it wouldn't fit, I tried it on to show her...and it did. VS is a whole new world for me.

-when for the first time in a very long time, the tank tops I am addicted to wearing underneath everything....didn't ride up.


Ladies-- a little side note. Remember to smile when you discover new, fantastic feelings like all of those posted here.

When your muscles, which have worked so hard carrying all that extra you around, now show as toned because fat has melted off.

When you don't recognize yourself in photos -- in a good way!

When your rings no longer fit.

When you're forced to go down a width in shoes because your feet are no longer fleshy brethren to tennis rackets. :D

When your body has ceased suctioning itself to the bathtub; in fact your hips no longer touch the sides of the tub at all!

When you can layer clothing without worrying about too much fabric emphasizing (or exacerbating) your natural bulk.

When a waist suddenly appears!

When you no longer lose feeling in your legs when you attempt to cross them.
(side note: when you can cross your legs first the first time in years.)

When your doctor wants to know what you've been doing to lose the weight.

You know you've lost weight when:

Your underpants keep sliding down your butt in your pants from being too big.
Your sudden disappearance of double chin in photos (a favorite)
Pants fit nicely straight from the dryer.
Your balance gets better, which means your moving more gracefully.

You actually like looking at yourself in the mirror to see the changes!
You don't have to unbutton your jeans to put them on or take them off.

looking at a photo and having to do a double take thinking, is that me?? :)
that was the first major visual for me,

can go up a flight of stairs and not be out of breath..

really like the crossing legs one, i had mine crossed last night while i was at a table..

trying on clothes in the store and thinking that it looks well, not tight and bulgy..

muffin top disappearing ..

the dreaded double chin exiting and your own lovely face starting to re-appear..

these have been mentioned, but the appearance of collarbones, im OBSESSED with my collarbones, they are just so prominent and beautiful... and the fact that I WANT to be in pictures now, before I would almost dive to get out of the way of a camera, but now, totally time for my close-up
OH! not having to take the "myspace" hold the cameral waaaay over my head, try to suck in your chin (doesn't work, i still tried) face pic that us chubby girls think fool everyone (they don't) you can actually back up and take a pic of all of me and i'm not terrified about how they turned out

Um, when your favorite stretchy workout pants are falling off of you while trying to do jumping jacks (true story). Those quickly turned into one-armed jacks.

When you suddenly realize you are the small cousin.

When you wear sizes in the single digits for the first time ever.
