Default Getting through the 130s and 120s!!

I am officially in the 130s now but not quite ready to migrate over to the featherweights forum. Would any of you ladies who are in the 130s and the 120s with more than a few pounds left to lose like to join me on this thread?

It's my day #2 solidly in the 130s and I'm still a bit surprised! My goal is 125 lbs but maybe even lower depending on how my body fat percentage shapes up - it's currently around 33%.

me! i just weighed in yesterday at 140, and my goal is probably somewhere around 125 or 130. i've recently been thinking about body fat percentage, too, and how i can turn some of my fat into muscle. are you doing any strength/resistance training? i'm slowly edging my way into it but i'm just not a fan hoping i just haven't found the right exercises, and when i do i'll suddenly love it haha

I have been slacking on my workouts recently - in theory I try for 5-6 days per week but lately it's been 2-3 days per week. (This may be related to my recent weight loss! Not in a good way.) I alternate cardio and weights days. On my cardio days I do a couch-to-5k workout (I'm almost at the end of the program) plus leg extensions and leg curls on a weights machine. On my weights days I use light weights (3-8 lbs) and do a full-body circuits workout, either Jillian Michaels No More Trouble Zones or the Strength Training for Busy People workout from about.com.

I'm not saying that's like an ideal program or whatever, but I've been doing it for a few months and I like it. I've definitely gotten stronger in that time. I like being able to do my weights workouts in my living room because many days I don't have time to get to the gym. I watch TV while I do those weights exercises now that I'm familiar with them, which makes it less boring.

I find that if I'm working out often I LOVE it and I can't wait to get to the gym every day. If I'm not working out much it feels more like a chore. I'm in the latter frame of mind right now so I should really get back to the former!

thanks for that about.com link, that looks pretty perfect for me. i don't know what it is, i love cardio but get so bored with strength. though i kind of like the idea of doing cardio at the gym so i can use the elliptical/treadmill/evil stair machine there and doing that routine at home, so i'm going to give that a shot. and i know what you mean about motivation/frequency - once i get going it's great, it's those times where i skip out for a while that makes the thought of working up a sweat less appealing than lazing around at home! same goes with eating right, anything more than an overindulgent day or 2 invariably leads to an unhealthy few weeks :/

Me! I know I'm a feather but I don't feel as comfortable in that forum since a lot of them are trying for the 110s and I feel pressured to get thinner over there. (as a note, I know that's in my head and not anyone's fault but I already lowered my goal due to lurking over there and I just don't want to go there.)

I am working on strength training right now, just ordered New Rules of Lifting for Women. I would recommend stumptuous.com for tips on weight lifting stuff and some fun and educational reading.

I would love to join this thread! I know what you mean even though the feathers are REALLY nice people.

Me. I'm a regular in Featherweights but I've been bad bad bad lately and feel a bit guilty/ashamed to show my face in there (which is totally irrational but hey).

After a week of slacking off I've peaked at a couple pounds short of 140, which is RED ALERT for me considering not two weeks ago I was 130 even. ERHR I totally know what you mean about the frequency of workouts and enthusiasm about exercise. After just a couple slack days I'm already feeling the inertia. This is stupid. I'm off for a walk. It's just a walk. It shouldn't feel like a chore!

Our exchange yesterday pushed me to get to the gym this afternoon - I usually don't go on Fridays. I ran for 25 minutes at 6.5 mph! Plus a 5-minute walking warmup and cooldown. I wanted to quit three times but stuck it out. I was pretty winded by the end I usually do some leg exercises after my run but I don't like the weights machines at the particular gym, so after trying it once I forwent that part of the workout.

Just wanted to share that you girls inspired me!

Yes, please! The name "Featherweights" implies I should be small, and I don't feel small. I feel bad in that forum.

I'm having a hard time getting out of the 130's. I think this is my body's "natural" weight, since I've been here for a while.

Dang, I'm actually back in the 140s, barely. I was only in the 130s for three days but I'm sure I'll be back there soon.

Good luck to everyone

My official weigh-in is tomorrow so I'm interested in where it's at. 130s took me several months to get out of but then again I didn't seriously buckle down until mid-February! It's so easy to be complacent when I am close to goal and I stop being as strict with my food choices.

Me Me Me!!!! I've been trying for months now to break through the 130s but so far I have been unable to burst pass the 131 lbs barrier =[ I have never been in the 120s before in my life...well...may be once when i was on my way up to 183 but i digress =D
Anyway, i'm a regular lurker here but perhaps putting one foot forward and posting to show accountability is what i need to do to push pass this. Good luck ladies =)

Armastus - welcome to the thread!

Official weigh in has me at 127.2 lbs again which is back down from my pre-NYC trip weight! I went up to 128.8 last week after the trip.

3 more weigh-ins before it's the start of June! I started May at 128.8 so anything below that is a step in the right direction! I'm hoping as close to 125 as possible! I'm not going to do anything drastic though.

131.8 today. I don't have any specific goals at this point since I've learned setting them is meaningless. I've put myself on a "no junk food" cleanse since junk food triggers binge eating, and I feel a lot more in control of what I eat.

I was 133 today! I let out a squeal of delight when I saw it. Unfortunately, I started my period later and will now have to deal with icky period water weight.
