Default Do you have a healthfood thats a trigger food??

Even though a food is considered healthy or a healthier alternative can it still be a trigger for you?

For example, I can't have fat free Reddi Whip in the house bc I can eat the whole can in one day. Its only 5 cals per 2tbs, so 1 can is 200 cals, not a horrible indulgence, but I am very strict with what I eat & my calories so I cant waste 200 of em on a can of Reddi Whip. Also if I have it in the house I look for things to put it on top of, so it may lead to me eating other foods I shouldn't.

So how about you?

Strawberries... I can eat the whole pint in one sitting. Not bad for less than 100 cals for the pint, but still. Binge city.

ALL foods. I just really like eating. I never really had a junkfood problem, though I did eat junkfood. I more or less had a food in general problem. The biggest change for me has been portion size. I find counting calories and grams of protein help me out in this department.

ABSOLUTELY! My two that get me the worst are nuts or peanutbutter and any type of fruit. I could live off those foods!! Actually, funny you mention it, just this morning I overdid it with the walnuts. I couldnt stop. Had about 4oz of them! Whopping 640 calories and 56g of fat !!

Anything really. If all I had in the fridge was low fat yogurt, I would eat it all. Same goes for any food, healthy or junky. Could be ding dongs could be apples, I don't discriminate. Portion size is key for me (and really hard for me to control sometimes).

I can't have cereal in my house. I know w/ the different types of cereal its debatable which ones are healthy. But I could have a box of plain Bran flakes, and it would be a problem. I can eat an entire box of cereal in one day. Soo its sad that I cant even buy it anymore. But its too much of an issue for me, and im better off not having it in the house.

Ditto, sister. Strawberries are like cookies to me, why not just eat the whole package? Especially the 2 lb cartons from Sam's Club my mom keeps at her house. I can't even look at em.

YES! I gained the vast majority of my weight from over-eating foods that are healthy and nutritious in moderation, not from eating junk. Avocados, hummus, granola or kashi cereal, yogurt, cheese, peanut butter/almond butter (especially when eaten with flax bread), nuts or dried fruit, baked falafel, baby carrots and celery eaten any kind of dip, homemade bean burritos, even soups! I can binge on fruits too, but the worst one is bananas, I think because they're so much sweeter and starchier than other fruits, so I've gotten to the point where I just don't buy bananas anymore in favour of tarter fruits like berries, kiwi and citrus.

Natural peanut butter and nuts! I can't even eat nuts because I know if I eat a serving, I will be back for more!

Cereal and nuts of all kinds! I just had a bowl of Kashi GoLean Crunch w/almond milk, but I did budget for it today, so it's all right. However, if I don't watch my portions, I can easily eat many, many bowls. Sigh.

I LOVE salted nuts. In one particular binge I tore up a whole can of the fancy nut mix. The fat and salt combination is so good, and I had a really bad case of the munchies.

Can't moderate myself with nuts, cereals (AllBran is the exception), cereal bars, bread and sweetened yogurts. Sometimes I can keep cheese in the house. At first I felt weird that I had to ban healthy foods, but you get used to it.

For me it would definitely be fruits of any kind and nuts, I just can't seem to control my portions when it comes to them. Last night I made a little fruit salad out of mango, strawberries, and bananas that was suppose to be for dinner and breakfast.....didn't work out as planned.....lol

Fricken' HUMMUS. I don't eat meat or dairy and I have to get creative with my protein sometimes, so I tell myself "It's a bean protein! It's practically a bowl of straight veggies." (Which is mostly is.) But god, I can rip straight through an entire batch in a single sitting. It is so good.
