gnat Thanks for the luck - I think I went in confident so I can do it again - the only thing I'm truly worried about is getting the job and then letting them down if I reall can't do it! Congrats on your loss - 2 pounds in a week is great :)
Wannabe Thank you for the kind words! And the luck. I think I just need to overcome the nerves that come with an unfamiliar situation. As for the plateau, I weighed again at 62kg/136.6 pounds - so I think it may be safe to say the plateau is over - however I wouldn't be surprised if I have another one at this weight haha. Feel free to start an April thread once April rolls around! I'll get there before you :P (April I mean). ~Yes, so I think the plateau may be over. I'm going to move my ticker - I haven't been able to do that in AGES. Will feel good. I need to get back into exercise this week after having last week off due to the accident. My neck feels good but I'm scared of hurting it/prolonging any injury so I'm not really sure where to start - I also really don't feel like it haha - I feel like I'm in need of more sleep/rest, I was so tired getting up this morning and am still so tired now and it's before 10am! |
Nat- Yup! lol I've actually lived in welland, st catharines, and niagara falls over the years, but I was born in the hammer and spent most of my life here. I'm actually a student at Mac..lmao It's a great hospital and you'll be taken care of there :-)
Thanks! I'm feeling good about it but I know I have to step it up now...the first few pounds just melt off but it's the rest that I have to really work for..lol and LOL I know what you mean! Sometimes I buy a pair at the end of season so when the weather is FINALLY good enough to get back into them, it's just like a reunion! haha! |
oops...posted that too early by accident.
anyways, I'm excited for the new thread too...I have been on 3FC a lot lately and it's really helping me stay focused on eating right because I have to report back here ;-) rainbow- I'm glad that your plateau is over and you're feeling better! Aren't you glad that you stuck to eating OP while you weren't able to exercise? Great work! So I'm gonna start the April thread now. This is my first time opening one, it's kinda exciting actually :-P This week is my last of this school year, I'm so happy!! *dances* Have a great, OP day ladies! |
Rainbow: Don't ever stress about 'letting them down'. If for whatever reason you don't know how to do something, they'll train you. If you're still nervous about starting to work out again, just take it slow. Go for a walk? Do some stretches? And slowly progress. Try not to get in a rut tho of not being active. Once you get stuck, it'll be even tougher to get back on the horse.
Nurse: That's pretty crazy, but definitely cool. I wish I had my other surgery at Mac, it would've been a lot easier on me probably, lol. Let's just say I'm excited, haha. --- So I've had a busy day. Got up stupid early to take my dad to work so I could have a car to take my brother to work. He works at ADIDAS so I decided to go in to see if they had anything new that I liked. I found a really cute hot pink w/ black stripes zip up jacket that I can wear to the gym and around the house. I tried on the XL, looked in the mirror and decided it looked good. I bought it and went to the gym. I tried it on again and noticed there were some spots with a lot of excess fabric and I decided to take it back to get the Large. Sure enough, the Large fits! I'm super excited!! The scale is being a little wonky again. I felt really good this morning, like I would be in the single digits again. Weighed in at 210.4 today. Bleh - I walked for 2 miles and did a bunch of leg exercises. The muscles in my arms are rreallllly starting to firm up. I can really feel a difference. I need to work on my triceps tho to get rid of some flab. >.< Anyways, I took a picture of the new jacket, so I thought I'd share. https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&i...disp=inline&zw |
rainbow Don't worry about anything! You are such a capable person I am sure you will pick everything up so quickly. Way to go on breaking the plateau! I am finally dusting myself off and getting back into my routine and I know how hard it is to get moving again after a break. urgh!
nurse haha you are so excited to open the April thread! Can't wait :) So what are you going to do for your school vaca? gnat way to go on your jacket. I can't see the pic for some reason. Doesn't it feel great to build muscle? I love when I am in my exercise mode and I feel strong and powerful. :) So ladies you are all doing so well :) I am getting myself together finally and trying to get on board with working out. Been walking alot and waiting for my Zumba dvds so I can dance the pounds away! woohoo :) I was sick yesterday and still feel yucky today but I ate decent and burned calories unpacking my house, which looks amazing by the way. I am ready to get my behind into a pair of size 8 jeans and then on to my prepreggie 6s. Hope you all are hanging in there |
Wannabe I can't say I was totally OP while I wasn't working out last week, but I at least continued to count calories even if I went over a bit. So this being your last school week does that mean you get holidays?
gnat That's a good point - I guess I shouldn't worry about letting them down but I am a worrier. All I can do is be truthful - they know I don't have experience in a job like this, all I've said is that I believe the skills I currently do posess and the experience I've had in other positions will be transferable and hopefully have me prepared to learn a new role fast. I guess it's just fear of the unknown. I am a pretty anxious person I guess. I got back into exercise, straight off last night with jog/walk after work! Zip up jacket sounds cute but the pic didn't load for me... sun Thank you for the kind words, you are too sweet. I hope it's just me being scared of something unknown, as I so often am. I hope you enjoy the Zumba when you get it - you'll have to let us know how the dvds are! ~So I jumped straight back into exercise after work last night. I was not going to, I had told myself I would just start with my Zumba class on Tuesday (tonight) and ease back into it - but I knew I'd make excuses like that all week so after work I just went out and did it. A 3.55km jog/walk - most of it was jogging. Oh it was hard, but I feel good for doing it. Now Zumba after work today. Tomorrow (Wednesday) I will probably have off...but maybe not? We'll see. I have the second interview for the job in the morning and my nerves have basically been building since yesterday...I'm considering buying some rescue remedy (herbal anti-anxiety stuff) because it's getting that bad...but I'd also like to think I'm capable of thinking rationally and calming myself before the interview. Today I went out and got myself a notebook and brainstormed why I want the job, why I think I should get the job, and what I want to know about the job - I'm hoping that is some good preparation for the interview tomorrow - they already asked a few things like that, but I feel like now I know more about the position I could be better off...I don't know. I am stressed out! Weight still at 62kg/136.6 pounds so I'm counting the plateau as well and truly over. Now just hoping to see continuing loss! |
rainbow Do you have msn or yahoo messenger? pm your id if you do :)

Hi All!! I'm back after being MIA for at least the past week. Been a rough one! My 5.5 month old boxer puppy came down with a bad infection that made his leg swell up huge, he couldn't walk on it, and developed a fever of 104F (should be 101.5F). His leg was super sore, he stopped eating pretty much, and didn't want to move at all for days. The poor little guy! ... so my eating/drinking has been so-so. Not terrible but not good as I haven't bothered to be conscientious about it at all.
BUT, after a good dose of antibiotics, he's doing pretty darn great! And he's starting to put his foot down just slightly as he walks now which is a huge improvement. I've gone to yoga each monday but not strength training in the last week so will get that started again. Also, the weather is starting to get nicer here so am going to get outside walking too! I've got lots to catch up on with everyone, but I hope everyone has been doing great! |
I got the job!!
|
preppinf sorry you had a bad couple of weeks. You are gonna get back on the horse in no time!
rainboweeeeeeee yahooooo way to go honey. So so very proud of you. This is your year! New job new body. Sooo happy for you. I just started Zumba and it was hard! I am doing dvds. are the classes as fast I wonder. |
rainbow, That's wonderful that you got the job!! Yay!!! :D
sun, thanks for the support. :) I've been to zumba classes and have always found that the first class is faster than subsequent ones -- but I'm pretty sure that's because of the amount of thought going into the moves. ;) Pup is doing great. Other than the fact that he hops/limps everywhere, I don't think he even knows or remembers that anything is wrong with his leg. Runs all over the place! Also, took the older dog out for a super long walk yesterday. It was beautiful! The both of us are benefiting by losing our winter weight. |
I am back as well after being MIA. Lots going on these last few weeks Like a TON. I've hit another plateau :\ stuck at 290 which is 30 lbs gone, its good but not good enough for me. Hoping the scale fairies like me this week. We will see. Can't believe march is almost over! its like WHOA. Not much to report here just lots of lost motivation and being on the go though I did get to go back to school! had my first class last night and have a TON of homework! like not even funny.

Rainbow: CONGRATS!!! Definitely excited for you :) Stress can be a killer for not losing weight & hitting plateaus. You definitely do have the power to calm your mind down, so try not to rely on herbal remedies right away. You don't want to become dependent on stuff like that. Try a warm bath/shower or doing something you really enjoy (reading, cooking, etc). OR you can come talk to Us, :D
sun: I'm getting muscles I didn't even know I had!! I'm like "what's this?" "WHOA!" hahaha! Glad you're house looks good! You definitely deserve it :) Omg, Zumba is SO much fun. I go to classes at my local YMCA and it's a ton of fun. I have some DVDs as well (but I haven't done them yet). Let me know how it goes, ok? Prepping: I'm glad your pup is doing better. It's hard when animals in our lives get sick - they're like our children. :) SMS: Congrats on your 30lb loss! That's pretty wicked! I don't know where March went either, but I'm sure April will bring you new opportunities and Motivation will come and you'll be losing even more :) Keep up the good work!! --- Another sluggish day. I'm getting into a bad routine of sleeping in till noon almost every day and I have a feeling it's going to kick me in the butt once I get back to NC. I'm hoping the next couple days to be up around 9am so I don't feel completely whipped. I did some more packing, posted some things that I'm trying to sell and ate on plan (kinda - I snacked on some chocolate chips, but I made sure to include them to my daily calorie intake). I binged on some mac'n'cheese last night, which probably wasn't the best thing. The scale was up to 211 today, which made me cringe. I survived week 3 day 1 of my C25K. It wasn't as bad as I thought, but I struggled a little bit towards the end, but I pushed through it. After the gym, I went to the mall and got my future hubby a gift (a money clip) and got it engraved. I'm excited to give it to him. He doesn't like surprises, so he's been nagging me to tell him what it is, lol. I'm also getting my hair curled on Friday for my going away party, so I'm excited. I am nervous though because I won't have access to a gym membership when I'm in NC for at least a month. I'm trying to figure out what I'll do for exercises while i'm down there. I've got a couple of work out DVDs I'm bringing with me, but I don't know what to do for strength training, since I don't have any hand weights :\ Do you ladies have any suggestions? |
prepping glad you pup is better
sms homework :( boo gnat haha I will let you know how it goes. Maybe you could focus on bodyweight exercises? VUPs and pushups and such. They are good toning and muscle building exercises. So i didn't work out today. I woke up late and it was a blah day but I am going to hit it hard tomorrow :)haha |
rainbow- WTG GIRL!! I'm so happy for you!!
Prepping- I'm glad to hear that you puppy is getting better. That must have been quite a scare! :-S sun- I have got to try this "zumba" thing. I keep hearing about it and it sounds like it's an awesome workout! Sooo I kinda freaked out last night, lol. I went to a friends house and I brought my own dinner because I didn't think her parents would have vegan food. Well they did. White pasta, created by the devil himself! lmao but really, I avoid white pasta at all costs because I used to gorge on that stuff! Anyways, I didn't want to be rude and turn it down because they even heated up a plain sauce for me so that I could join them at dinner. I had a small portion (about a cup) but it still kinda irked me. There was NO protein or fibre in that meal, and not a vegetable in sight!...what a waste. I think that next time I'm just gonna say something like 'I need to monitor the vitamins and minerals I'm getting because I eat vegan, so I really need to eat ______ for dinner' And if they get offended, I'll just throw in some nursing jargon to get them to shut it :-) Another week almost over! I hope I have a loss this week, but I might not because I haven't started exercising yet. If I don't see one, I'm getting this body moving ASAP! lol Have a great, OP day ladies! |
