Resigned

Well, after a 6 month absence from this site I'm back and gained all the weight I lost back and then some. I tried to stay away from the scale when I was last here and just do measurements because I was worried I would freak out at the number on a scale (haven't looked at a scale in 8 years...even at the doctors I close my eyes). I'm SICK of being overweight though so I went out, bought a scale and the number popped up- 176. I'm not freaking out, though I am upset at myself, I guess I'm resigned to the fact that I have to start somewhere.

Anyway, I wanted to say hello again and try and start over. Hope you all have been doing better than me in the last 6 months. I'm 29 and will be 30 in November...it is time to get my butt in gear.

Welcome back to 3FC! I think checking the scale is a good thing. It helps remind you of what your goals are for yourself. Myself and many others here have your back! You can get back to your goal weight in no time!

Welcome back Chica! You know you can do it... it just sucks doing it again. I am a big time yo-yo'er so I know how you feel! And I turn 30 in August so I am right there with ya.

Welcome back! I just came back myself after taking the holidays off and avoiding the scale. Good for you for not freaking out - it does no good.

I made a resolution to visit this site every day and post. I find it keeps me honest.

Best of luck!!

Welcome back! I've gained and am back to losing also... no shame in starting again. ;)

hey, welcome. :) i don't think you're the only one that's gonna be coming back in at the beginning of the year, so no need to be ashamed! plus, 176 is really not that high, and, i mean, you noticed the problem before it got too crazy and now you can get back on the horse! good luck!

welcome back! Here's to a new year and a new start!!

asweetchicagogirl1 01-05-2011 08:26 PM

Thanks for the "welcome backs". I'm really proud of myself for not freaking over the scale...I litterally haven't looked at the number on the scale for 8 years (back when I was obsessed with working out and dieting to a bit of too much of an extreme).

Pinkberry- Good for you for catching it early...I originally went from a happy normal size for me (6) to where I am now (with some yo-yoing) because I got lax in a past relationship...it is fairly common I think.

Thank you all. I'm going to try and post every day and stay accountable to myself and all of you.

Theres no need to feel ashamed, the best thing is you are starting and want to make a change. It doesn't matter what time of the year it is. :) Welcome back!

Yep, I am returning to my journey as well. I am trying not to be frustrated with myself, and have a more well rounded, less obsessive approach to weight loss this time around.

Good luck to you, we can do it!

You can do it! Looks like there's a few of us in the same boat as you so there's lots of support!
