You could probably start off with higher calories than 1500 - maybe 1700-1800 - you would still lose and it would give you more wiggle room to drop them as the weight comes off :) Good luck!

I'll try that cause I have tried the 1500 once befor and got results but I felt hungery so much that I gave up.

Try to spread your calories throughout the day. Low-cal snacks help me a lot. I'm a "grazer" I guess you could say. I eat a lot of fruit, which is good because it has a lot of fiber, too. Find what works for you and don't forget to try new things!
I know you probably know this, but it's important when calorie counting to not only count calories, but try and get in healthier food as much as possible. You'll get more bang for your buck! Good luck! |
I would also ditto what the others have said and add that spreading your meals out would probably be great that is the best for me!

:wave:Keep a food and exercise journal! I swear by it...I lost mine a few weeks ago and couldn't keep myself accountable to save my life. I've got a new journal (mini notebook I keep in my purse!) and I am back on track and rockin it ;)
Also, try using a pedometer. I have a daily goal of 10M steps. Helps me be accountable for moving my body. Another thing you may want to try to help keep you motivated are photos of your "goal". Use inspirational quotes, photos of female athletes, etc. and post them everywhere. Right now I have a pre 3rd baby photo of myself lookin hott on my cell phone screen. I look at my phone a million times a day and I always have my goal staring me in the face! :cheer2:Good luck with your journey! Never forget why you started it and where you want to be. We are always here to support you! |
I have found that if I have my main meal of the day at lunch then something light for dinner it has really helped me get the weight off! Good luck :)

I have been doing a exercise book count callories ate a burnt that has helped so much cause its stareing me in the face all the time and I'm realizing how many callories are in a meal. The first day I did good all day long until I ate supper and went that sent me 110 calories over my limit so i doubled up on the traidmill that nightI have started eating fruit or carrots for a snack. What would be the best way to weigh my self everyday or once a week right now I do everyday and write it down in my food diary. I have been over weight my whole life and I'm tired of it and I'm so determined to lose weight this time.:carrot:

Becca - Great name :) My best piece of advice? Don't let one bad day be the beginning of a downward spiral. Start over fresh every morning, and then with every decision throughout your day. The more good decisions you make, the better you will do!

i would try to find something that would work for you. for me i just watch what i eat and work out. When i first started my journey i didn't exercise as I didn't want to jump into anything too quickly and become overwheled with it all. I started with changing some of my eating habits and worked from there. Just find what works for you as far as eating wise and working out and something you know you'll stick with! |
One of the best things I have found is giving myself a range to say within. For example right now I try to stay between 1400-1650 calories. It gives me wiggle room and I'm not chasing one specific number so there's a lot less pressure.
Also as someone else mentioned keeping a food journal. |
