Loss of energy...(tips please)

So this morning I change my eatting habits, I had 3 small eggs two pieces of toast and half a cup of cottage cheese for breakfast.

I then later on did JM BFBM and in the middle of it I had lost all my energy. Anyone else have or had this problem where you have all this energy and then BAM it's all gone? How did you over come it? What do you do to keep yourself energized?

where's the fiber? when i eat fiber it keeps me going. beans/lentils and greens(any leafy type veggies, spinach etc) give me lots of energy. legumes keep me full and satisfied longer than anything.

it could also be, you're still getting used to this workout.

Fiber...I thought protien energy? Right now I have none until wed when I get paid. Also true about getting used to the workout thing...it was my first day doing it.

Protein helps I think but fibre is also good. Keeps you full longer too! I'm not sure what JM BFBM but if you think you're getting enough food and calories and are still tired I find a multivitamin helps me heaps.

I second the multi vitamin suggestion. Also, I find that a small piece of fruit right before the gym (sugar + fiber) helps a TON in the energy department. I usually can't tolerate a full stomach when I work out, but it's not enough food to impact it, yet it really gives me a boost- especially after working all day (I work out at night).

Sometimes though, you just run out of juice  No rhyme or reason to it.

If it was your first day doing the workout, you probably just ran out of steam because you're not used to it yet. Also, how much later after you ate did you do the workout? I find that if I workout too soon after eating, I'm sluggish, but if I wait too long, then I have less energy. I usually wait ~30 minutes after I've eaten before working out. Also make sure to keep hydrated before and after.

Caffeine 30 minutes before you start your workout. Just a cup of coffee or something.

I typically try to eat some almonds (protein) about 30-45 min before I go into the gym. This helps out a lot, especially if I haven't eaten a large or well planned lunch.

hmmm well I seem to have plenty of energy throughout the day...let's see I drink two cups of black tea (no sugar, no milk), 1 cup of green tea w/1 packet of splenda (tea has tons of antioxidants and just a kick of caffeine), handful of almonds (reallly good brain food) or pistachios (good source of potassium)---gotta keep those electrolytes balanced, fruits (usually a banana a day---potassium potassium!) and a B complex vitamin in addition to my multivitamin....oh and most importantly 8.5-9hrs of SLEEP!

MiZTaCCen 12-15-2010 12:28 PM

I don't drink coffee (I think it was just the workout I wasn't used to) I don't know some days my body is on the go none stop, and other's its like crash haha. I remember one time I did JM 30DS and I wanted to take a nap right after but I ate some eggs and I was wide awake afterwards with energy. I'm probably lacking something in my diet as well (the diet part I still haven't figured out yet lol) Thanks for your help though! <3
