Any tips for losing back fat?
Hello!
I just recently bought a new swimsuit... Its from Panache: http://breakoutbras.stores.yahoo.net/pas1pcsws.html (I didn't buy it from this site but it has decent pictures). So I am not in fantastic shape yet, but I have a few months before I have to wear the suit in Public (I am leaving in early December for sunny places). My main concern with wearing this suit is that it is really open in the back, so my chunkiness is very visible... I know I shouldn't worry too much about this, but I will be traveling with two men, who regularly check women out and are both weight obsessed (one of them is constantly saying he is fat and trying to skip meals - but he is like 6 feet tall and 180, and the other is crazy skinny and wakes up at 5:30 every morning to go jogging up mountains - no joke...). On my last trip with these two I developed serious confidence issues... Especially since they insist on taking pictures of me, and I always look awful... I fully intend on continuing my current weight loss effort, but I would like to add something to help tone (?) my back. Anyone have any suggestions of exercises or any videos that actually produced desired results??? Thanks! M |
I got great results when I worked with my personal trainer. We do lots of cross training and weight based training. In between seeing him, I did mostly cardio (running is my cardio of choice) and the weight training based programme he gave me. Doing this consistently, combined with diet and weight loss, gave me results that I think took me about 4 months to get. In this picture the first was july 09 and the second was oct 09, so that might give you some idea of what you might reasonably expect maybe? I'm no wonder woman so im sure anyone can get at least this result

I have a friend who did most of her cardio on a treadmill. When she lost all of her weight she still had the back fat that bugged her. She said she just added wrist weights and the back fat dropped off after that.

Spot reduction doesn't work. If you want to lose fat from your back, you have to lose fat everywhere. But you can tone your back. Youtube always has good how to videos for any kind of workout, just search for back/shoulder exercises and you should get some good ones.

Those are great results! It's nice to know that my back could look like that under this extra padding!!

Yeah, Icon!!! Those are some great results... Its really inspiring:)

omg my back is so gross, and while other areas are slimming down nicely, my "Michelin Man" rolls don't seem to have budged an inch.
So, if you find anything that works for you, please share! ;) |
Nice back photos! Someday I hope to find mine again!

I know for me I noticed losing back fat when I started doing crunches and sit-ups. It took a while cause I had a good little bit, so I just did it every evening. Just working on my abs area has been a great help. :)

You are looking for toned back?
Swimmers always have great toned backs. Work on your shoulders and your back should tone up as well. |
I do P90x! I lost a roll on my back by the second week. It has cardio and weight training. I think any weight training will help you tone your back.

Ok! So I will take all of the advice and get to work!!! I don't have the funds right now for a personal trainer, but I will add some more weight training to my workout routine:)
