I know Cambridge, Freedom. I was a student there and have friends there. A big plus to volunteering or networking there is that quite a few people have interesting and unlikely connections. You could try the Volunteer Centre (Llandaff Chambers, 2 Regent Street). They offer a one-to-one chat on a Thursday and also have an online database.

Are you applying for jobs you don't want too? Not as a permanent career choice but sometimes if you're in on the ground floor of, say, shelf-stacking, you can get to hear about other stuff within the company sooner than the outside world does. Plus, the longer the gap between finishing studying and getting a job goes on, the more employers are going to be impressed by someone who's had the gumption to find a job rather than wait for the 'right one' to come along.

Rosinante, I am applying for everything I can find really. I don't have a car so it has to be somewhere I can get to by bus or on foot, but I'm not discriminating in any other way at the moment.
Thanks silverbirch. I looked at that website yesterday in fact! :) |
Great minds!
