Does the scale lie???

I'm super confused right now. Yesterday was my weigh in day. I recorded the number on my calendar. Today I hopped onto the scale again out of curiosity...it said I was 2 pounds less than yesterday?!?! Now while I would love to believe that's the case, I don't think it is. Both times I weighed myself right after I woke up and hadn't eaten anything...was wearing the same thing, etc. I've always been a firm believer that the scale couldn't lie and now I don't know (p.s. it's a digital). What's up with it??

I should also note that if I did weigh two less than yesterday my weight loss for one week would seem rather unrealistic and possibly unhealthy...

My scale is a huge liar (digital as well), but I can usually beat the truth out of it by stepping on it a few times. 2 lbs overnight is entirely possible though (the beloved "whoosh" you'll hear mentioned from time to time on here). Are you new to weighing in daily? It's common to experience fluctations, which different people deal with in different ways. Some graph results so they can see the overall trend; some take an average of the week's weights, and some (like myself) weigh in daily but have one "official" weigh in day that is the only one that "counts."

I used to weigh in daily but I've never seen fluctuations that large before. I think I'll just stick to one official weighin day. Lol. Here's hoping for magical "whooshes" then!

I use a few different scales but my Wii Fit scale is hilarious sometimes... last night I did the "body test" (where it weighs you and measures your balance) before my workout and weighed 79.6 kilograms and then did it again 46 minutes later after my workout and weighed 79kilograms. That's from 175.5pounds to 174.1 pounds. RIDICULOUS. Haha.
I have a scale at my house which I love, because it always tells me at least a 1-1.5kg (2.2 - 3.3pounds) lower weight than I know is correct.

 That's so funny. I do feel that way sometimes. I recount one time where I weighed myself and then went to the bathroom and weighed 4 pounds less. I know! Ridiculous. I think it goes with the whole water weight thing.
