flythinlyns Hah it was definitely not the talked about "burn"! I think it was because it's still pretty cold outside (we're just coming into Spring now in New Zealand) and possibly also (unfortunately) a slight hangover from when I used to be a smoker :( But it's not going to make me stop! It felt good though! Today my leg muscles are burning! So I must have been getting a good workout! I think I'm going to try again after work tonight - I think it might be harder, but I enjoyed it so I'm going again! Yay for being down a pound!
stargzr Thanks for the encouragement! Also I love your avatar - my mum is a HUGE Snoopy/Peanuts fan and collector, she has been for over 40 years! Yay for a new day and doing superbly on it! And good for looking forward to your run! I hope that I can call mine a run at some point haha - as of yet, it's not quite a run...it's like...jogging/walking intervals. ~~ As for me... my muscles are SO sore today haha. It feels good! I am kind of excited about doing my jog/walk interval workout outside again after work - I'm just hoping the weather holds out! It looks ok at the moment but in Auckland rain can appear at any moment without warning. I'm on track with food but feeling SUPER hungry today. Will keep on track though, I have a bunch of my snacks here. I feel like I should have some protein of some sort but that will have to wait for dinner. Going to the movies tonight and taking my own popcorn I think. Either that or I'll see if I'm on track with my calories for an icecream treat. Haven't been to the movies in about 5 weeks (long time for me, I usually go once a fortnight sometimes!). |

rainbowstripe Way to go on the running! I run on the treadmill and am not ready for the outside. Don't sore muscles feel sooo good? after these few days of yoga I feel my abs in a great way. Have fun at the movies! stargzr Way to go on making this day count! I always seem to go through bouts of serious weight loss and then a few weeks of maintaining. its so mental really. Just mind over tongue :P Am down 2 lbs since last weeks official weigh in! woo hoo! So today and yesterday were good days calorie wise. I ran today for about 16 minutes alternating another 10 minutes of brisk walking for about 2 miles. working my way up to running 5km in one shot! Tomorrow more yoga.... now that hubby is home I can get a couple of classes in while he watches baby girl. hope you all are doing well! |
sun Go you! That's awesome! I'm hoping to see a drop tomorrow or Friday this week - I weigh on both days usually! The muscles do feel good but so sore! I am walking around the store where I work looking like a pirate with a peg leg! Hobbling everywhere! I'm wondering whether doing the jog/walk again this evening could be impossibly hard.

rainbow - I think my love for it is from my childhood... I still watch the cartoon movies around the holidays. ;) I read somewhere when I first started running that it's not about the speed at which you go... if you think you're running, then you're running haha. It helped me to keep going and kind of 'identify' (if you will) myself as a runner.
sun - Congrats on the 2 lbs!!! That's quite a loss! I hope soon I can say the same for myself. :) I finished out yesterday very well. Today is going great so far and after having given blood this morning, I feel accomplished. ;) No work-out for me today, work all day since 6am... then school after work til 10pm. I'm always so wiped out on days like today that when I get home I get ready for bed and crawl into it. No biggie, I have a nice run planned for tomorrow after work and based on how well yesterday's went I'm very excited for it. |

I could not jog/walk again outside after work yesterday - my muscles were aching so much, I knew it just would be too hard and not in a good way. But I was determined to get some exercise in so I did 28 minutes on the stationary bike. It was not easy, way harder than usual, after 15 minutes I was ready to give up, the burn in my muscles was so intense! But I kept going for 28 minutes. The muscles are still sore today. I'm going to do an exercise dvd later on today before I cook dinner for my parents. I've got some ground turkey - have never cooked with it as it's pretty rare to find here in New Zealand, so I'm not sure what I'll do with it yet! Was going to weigh in today but I think I'll save it for tomorrow morning. Maybe. Haha, I don't know. No I think I will weigh in now, it's my usual day to. |
77.6kg. So...down nearly half a kilogram/almost a whole pound. 171 pounds exactly now. Sweet! Will do my other weigh in (with my Wii fit) on Friday, hopefully it will be a little bit less! TOM is coming to an end so I'm hoping that shows me something a bit different.

rainbowstripe way to go on the weigh in! Don't push yourself to run if you feel like you can't. Also my uncle who is an orthopedic surgeon told me to run every other day so my muscles and joints have time to heal and I don;t ruin them.
stargzr way to go on giving blood. I also appreciate those who do that as it was blood exchange tranfusions that saved my daughter when she was an infant. your day sounds so busy! Hope you enjoy your run tomorrow. As for me....I ate in my calories although I had a rough night and got almost no sleep until morning( baby is sick). Then I went shopping for birthday/cake/ stuff for next week for my daughter's birthday. After that I ran to yoga and detoxed! my shirt was so full of sweat I could wring moisture out of it.~! ewww and yay at the same time! Will check in tomorrow! |
Sorry ladies I'm going to be a complete Debbie Downer......I've totally lost the plot.
So I've basically undone all the good work I did over the weekend. I was feeling great less than 24hours ago, and now I'm totally sick. Sore throat, cough, congestion. :headache: I feel rotten, and like my body has totally let me down. Today I've eaten, 1/2 a choc muffin (not enjoyabe at all), 3 servings of theraflu, 1/2 a choc shake (hated it), and chicken soup & a piece of brown bread, a mexican coke and 4 pinwheel cookies, oh and 1/2 a fruit drink supposed to help fight of colds. Exercise you ask? I climbed the stairs to my apartment (incredibly hard). And the kicker about all of this, is had I taken care of myself, and drank my water and eaten my vegetables like I know I have to do when I'm flying I would been feeling great. Why oh why did I do this to myself? Okay sorry for whining. Everyone else has been doing so great. I think I'm going to go lie down, keep up all the good work everyone. |

flythinlynsOh no. That's no good that you're sick. I'm sure that once you get over some of the gross feelings from being sick you'll perk up a bit? I don't think you ate too much, but yeah as you say, not the best choices. But tomorrow is another day.... I hope you feel a bit better soon, rest is good. |
rainbow - lol, ok you jog. ;) I like to use ground turkey (it's much more common here) just as I would normally use ground beef. I'm not a beef person so to me it tastes better. My favorites? I like to make tacos or burritos, or I mix it with some snap peas, broccoli, and orange sauce to make a chinese stir-fry type dish. Congrats on half a kg! How exciting to keep seeing the scale go down!!
sun - Aww, you poor thing... and your poor daughter. I hope she gets well soon so you can both sleep better. ;) Hope you had fun shopping for birthday stuff! fly - You're still doing a great job! Look at you eating soup and brown bread! I think we all have a weak spot and mine too is when I am sick.. I just want to eat something that will make me feel better and all too often that happens to be not the best choice. Yesterday went well. On my way to class from my small fieldtrip I got into a fight with the trunk lid on my car. I won, but not before it bit me. I have a pretty sizeable bruise on my left arm now and am glad my shirt sleeve today is long enough to cover it. Eating was OP though and for that I am happy. I'm on my TOM at the moment (and prolly for the rest of the week) so I don't expect much in the losses until it's over. Today is a nice day so far and I packed for my run tonight on the way home from work. All is right in the world. ;) Have a great day ladies!! |
Down some more today! TOM is just about to disappear - I think it's gone but I never want to get too excited in case it pops up again haha - sometimes it does that. So I'm 77.3kg this morning, 170.4 pounds!
I'm going to get a massage today and make today also my day off exercise to give my muscles a chance to heal a bit - that doesn't mean day off eating OP though, just had myself a nice blueberry and banana smoothie. Stargzr I found a recipe somewhere around this site for individual turkey meatloaves that you cook in a muffin tin - it seemed to be diabetic friendly (my dad is diabetic) so I'm thinking I might try to cook those tonight and serve with some steamed veges and something else as well. Hope the bruise from the car trunk lid isn't too bad! I am such a clumsy person, I end up with bruises everywhere sometimes hah! Hope the rest of you ladies are well ^_^ |

Hope the bruise goes away soon. way to go on eating in calories :) always a feeling of accomplishment. rainbowstripe how great that the pounds are dropping! have fun at your massage...sounds so good :) So my day was not the greatest foodwise.. I made potato filled salty pastries and had a couple too many...sigh..drank alot of water and did my run so hopefully I kept it in check/....we shall see in the morning.lol well good night for now |

Hi ladies! I'd love to join your accountability if you don't mind. I have been on and off the wagon, gaining and losing the same 10 lbs for almost two years. I decided it is time to re-commit and do this for good. I really need to lose the 'all or nothing' attitude and realize this is a lifestyle change and I'm going to make mistakes. I'm ready to do this and I would love to be able to check in with you ladies and stay accountable!
