Default 30 Day Shred! FEAR!!

30 Day Shred. I've decided to do this instead of joining a gym for the time being... I have the dvd and I've done 1 day..

I AM SO OUT OF SHAPE!
I swear, does anyone ever think "how the **** have I survived this long like this?"

So, anyone have any 30 Day Shred success stories? Any tips for how to make it through the first parts without falling over in a heart attack? I make it through a few minutes and feel like I might pass out!

I just posted in the other thread saying to let us know how it goes and then I saw you posted this. I've heard a lot of success for the Shred. It's hard but from what I've heard, it works! I haven't done it myself but I may get it a little later in the game. Just a few minutes is a good start, though!! So you did great!

I did it, and it gives you an awesome work out, but I get bored easily. And I hate JM, so there's that. /dodges tomatoes

I still use it once in a blue moon if I need a very quick, effective work out.

I don't really like her either. I figure I can't say she doesn't know what she is doing though so I am trying to like her to get through it. lol

La Vie- I haven't worked this into my routine yet but I am trying. I have only completed the first day a couple of times and I cheated! lol I will get there, so will you.

30DS is a killer quick workout. It's really hard but you'll see improvements really quickly for that exact reason.

Just be consistent with it. Do it five days a week. Throw in some cardio if you can (walking, running, whatever you enjoy). You'll definitely see results. I say that for all of Jillian's workouts. The first week is killer but you'll be amazed at how much you improve.

KayNicole - I just do better with positive reinforcement. I don't like it when people yell at me. Be nice to me, I'll do whatever you want. Scream and I'll start crying.

Kaelah- Thanks for the support! haha. I feel really lame but hopefully soon I will be able to do it all! :-P

Stella- I totally understand. Luckily, I tend to do well with the yelling. When people yell at me, I get mad. and when I get mad, I do something about it! But I'm happy to know that it does work though!

Rockstar- Thanks for the inspiration! Good to know I wont _actually_ die. hehe.

Kay- YES! WE can do this! No cheating! I wont cheat if you wont cheat? deal? (ok.. I lied.. I might cheat if I feel like my dogs might have to call an ambulance.. but I will try real hard! hehe)

I just finished Day 18! I do it 6 times a week and I am tired of seeing Jillian's face! But I committed to doing 30 days, and I'm going to see it through darnit!

The first day is ROUGH. Really rough. Day 2 is 10X better, and every day you feel stronger. Except every now and then I get a day where I feel as weak as a kitten and I do the beginner modifications and lighter weights.

Not only do I feel stronger, but I can see the changes in my body. I have a little bit of definition in my shoulders and thighs and stomach where it just all used to be soft and flabby.

Tips? Always start with the beginner modification, use your lightest weights or even no weights to get through the workout the first few times. You'll have plenty of time to make it harder over the 30 days. Rest if you have to (even if JM says not to) and just pick right back up where you left off when you catch your breath. You'll find your body will get used to it very quickly and should be able to go without resting within a few days.

I did 30DS for two months. It was hard for sure, but it was so worth it. I lost about 20lbs using it. You can do it!

I almost died the first time i did the lv1 video. I was pretty embarrassed about how out of shape i was. The video obviously gets easier though with every workout. Cursing at Jillian helps.

OK day 1 done! It didn't seem as bad as the last time I did it. I did get a charlie horse in my left arch during the jumping jacks but I just jumped in place rather than out to the side since that was what seemed to set it off. It pretty much stuck with me until the 3 interval or whatever she calls it. But I made it... and now I am sweating like a pig.

Thought I'd throw in another success story just for good measure . The 30 DS was the first legit workout I tried when I first started losing weight (in Sept.) and was really out of shape. I had no idea who Jillian was, had never seen her shows, but I tried 30DS on exercise TV. I too thought I was going to die, but I somehow made it. I remember being so proud the day I could go all the way through the jumping jack cardio section on level 1 without stopping. It really inspired me to workout harder and push myself further than I thought I could. Jillian's style works for me (although she seriously says the weirdest crap ) and I still do her other DVD's when I'm not feeling motivated to work out on my own.
You can totally do the 30DS- it's rough at first, but you'll quickly notice how much you improve!
